Out of all the Hollywood stars whose wardrobes we’d love to raid, Emma Stone’s ranks at the top of our list. The actress has transitioned from big-screen sweetheart to bona fide movie star over the past few years, a metamorphosis as inevitable as her style evolution. While Stone showed off comedic chops in earlier films like Superbad and Easy A, which earned her a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actress in a Motion Picture Musical or Comedy, her recent choices have included more dramatic fare like The Help, Gangster Squad, and The Amazing Spider-Man (the sequel is out May 2014). Her fashion aesthetic has paralleled her rise to superstardom: little black dresses and simple cocktail frocks have given way to more directional, risk-taking outfits. She’s nailed her own particular brand of cool downtown polish when it comes to off-the-clock ensembles too. So we were thrilled when the actress, who voices a character in this month’s animated film The Croods, spilled her fashion must-haves exclusively to us (and yes, she’s every bit as charming as you’d think). Read on to find out what’s on our Guest Editor’s shopping list right now.

“I just bought Serge Lutens’ A La Nuit Eau De Parfum ($120) and it's really beautiful,” Stone says. “It smells like jasmine. The flower, not from Aladdin. Jasmine from Aladdin may also smell like this; I have no idea. I don't actually know her personally, but who could? She's such an enigma. And she has a tiger for a pet.”

Instead of telling us her latest handbag love, Stone chose to share her favorite cover-up. “It's still cold out and I'm in New York, so my coat serves as my handbag,” she explains. “I just put all my stuff in my pockets. I got a Canada Goose Kensington Parka ($695) from the costume department on The Amazing Spider-Man 2, and it has a big hood and really nice-sized pockets. It's uncomfortably warm. And I mean that as a compliment.”

      PHOTO: Lanvin

Some of Stone’s most iconic red-carpet moments have been in gorgeous Lanvin dresses, like the red frock bedecked in crystal flowers she wore to last year’s Met Gala. We weren’t surprised when she chose this slinky number from the label’s F/W 13 collection as her favorite runway look. “Alber Elbaz can do no wrong in my eyes,” she vows. “This encapsulates everything I love about Lanvin; it's simple, adventurous, playful, and completely beautiful. Also, I genuinely want that love necklace!”

“All of my favorite jewelry is sentimental, and none of it is very expensive because I misplace things a lot,” Stone explains. “Recently I've been wearing KCD by Kyle Chan’s Watermelon Tourmaline Necklace ($118) that I found on Etsy that's just a little piece of watermelon tourmaline. I hang out with a pretty woo-woo group of people, and somebody told me it's supposed to be calming. It's not working, but I like how it looks!”

“The costume department on The Amazing Spider-Man 2, led by the great Deb Scott who is a genius, also got me an incredible starting gift: these Isabel Marant Dicker Boots ($600)!” Stone says. “They're grey suede, and I've always wanted them (for two years. I'm like a dramatic 12-year-old. Two years is ‘always’ to me.) I’ve been wearing them every day since I got them (two weeks, which feels like my whole life.)”
