Wholesome Super Bowl Recipes? Believe It!

January 29, 2013 By Becky

Super Bowl Sunday is coming up quickly, and if you are like me, this means food added to the fun of watching the big game (although this year I’ll be watching for the ads, right?). spacer Just before Christmas I told you about the wholesome, healthy foods Zoës Kitchen has to offer, and they promise not to disappoint for your Super Bowl offerings.

When I think of Super Bowl parties, I can’t help but think about serving up great foods…and yes, they are not always the most healthy things that come to mind. This year, I am trying to make better choices, so it’s great that Zoës Kitchen is offering up some options that are healthy yet will go over great with all your guests (including the ones not watching their waists!).

If you like to have some control over the food that is presented at your party, then I suggest the Fresh Take Tubs. Basically, you pick up a tub of delicious food and pair it with ingredients that you have at home, making it yours. Being a girl that’s lived in the south, the fresh take Pimento Cheeseburger made my mouth water. You can find recipes like this on the Zoës Kitchen website and even Pin them to share with friends.

Or, if take out/catering is more your style, there are plenty of options for Game Day (including some great ideas for healthy swaps:

spacer Get pumped up and start game-day early with Zoës Fresh Take Breakfast Hash.Simply throw Zoës potato salad and diced onions into a skillet and cook until golden brown for the ultimate pre-game feast.

Skip the sky high-calorie chips and queso for Zoës Fresh Take Mediterranean Layer Dip with whole wheat pita chips or fresh cut veggies. Made with Zoës hummus, it’s the perfect party dip to share with fellow fans.

Swap Buffalo wings for Zoës tasty, fresh chicken kabobs. With grilled peppers, onions and tomato, these hearty kabobs will fill the hungriest of fans.

spacer Ditch takeout pizza and go with Zoës Kitchen freshVeggie Pita Pizza. Roasted vegetables, mozzarella, feta, fresh basil, caramelized onions and marinara put a better-for-you twist on this classic party favorite.

Is your mouth watering? I know mine is! Find out if you have a Zoës near you by clicking here…and if you don’t (like me…!), make sure you check them out during any of your travels. You’ll be glad you did.
