Student Volunteers

We are seeking volunteers who can serve at both the main IIiX Conference and HCIR Workshop. Student volunteers have the opportunity to see and discuss the latest research at the conference, and meet leading international researchers and other students. We are interested in including students with diverse backgrounds as part of our volunteer pool.

Benefits & Duties

Student volunteers will receive free registration, including the conference banquet. In return, student volunteers will be asked to work for about 15 hours during the conference. Typical student volunteer duties consist of working at the registration desk, session support, and anything else that helps the conference run smoothly.

Qualifications

Student volunteers must be undergraduate, Master’s, or Ph.D. students during the 2009-2010 academic year. All students, regardless of discipline, are encouraged to apply. We are looking for enthusiastic, intelligent, and reliable people. No special skills or experience are necessary for most volunteer positions; however, some familiarity with computing platforms, audio/visual equipment, or office equipment can be helpful.

How to Apply

Student volunteer applications are now open and are due by July 12, 2010. Successful applicants will be notified of their acceptance by July 19, 2010. Preference will be given to students who can volunteer for both IIiX and HCIR, but a limited number of positions will be able for those who can only work at IIiX.
