About Me & E-Mods.net

About the Site

E-Mods.net was originally made to host the Endeavor Mod (E-Mod) for Vampire The Masquerade - Redemption (VTMR). Since then, the site has gone through several iterations. E-Mods.net has expanded to include tutorials, additional mods, and additional games. Among those mod additions for VTMR are World of Darkness Arbitrary Language mod (Wodal), Age of Redemption mod (AoR), along with the flagship Endeavor Mod (E-Mod). Other content used to be slowly introduced into E-Mods.net from other games such as Crysis, but in the end, E-Mods.net is solely a Vampire the Masquerade - Redemption modding resource.

About Me (Site Owner)

My call-sign used to be Rainmoon when I first joined the Vampire the Masquerade - Redemption community. Back in 2006, I changed it to Javokis. I've been modding with the Nod SDK since 2001. I have gathered enough knowledge to pretty much do anything worth doing for the Vampire the Masquerade - Redemption PC game. I've managed three mods, built several maps, hosted my work from several websites, and found new purpose in all the work I did for this game. I was inspired to be a computer programmer because of it and obtained my ATA degree in Computer Programming.

Because of all of the new knowledge I have obtained, I have a better understanding of programming in general. I once intended to use my knowledge to begin building mods for CryEngine 2. I made a few video tutorials for CryEngine 2 on YouTube and intended to make more as I learn more about the engine's Sandbox 2 tool. Ultimately, the majority of my focus is on Vampire the Masquerade - Redemption. I like the challenge that modding an old game can bring. I also like to stay focused on gameplay mechanics rather than worry about graphics. I do feel that Vampire the Masquerade - Redemption still looks good to me. I feel that it's a DX7 game that has aged well from an artistic point of view. With enough tweaking through mods, this game can be equivalent to today's indie titles with addictive gameplay mechanics made possible through mods.

I'm detail oriented and prefer to stay focused on one project at a time. I also don't like leaving projects half finished, but sometimes I have to do what I have to do.

About the Community

The E-Mods.net community attracts a lot of diverse individuals from all over the world mostly seeking to create mods using the Nod SDK. We're a rather niche community who do our best to reach out to a wider audience to help make people aware of what Vampire the Masquerade - Redemption can still offer to the gaming community. Most individuals who visit the E-Mods.net forum usually come here for technical advice and to even show off what Vampire the Masquerade - Redemption related projects they are working on. Regardless of what other games we play either on Steam community or elsewhere, we still find ourselves coming back to this age old game. Hopefully, with enough mods, a return trip to Redemption will be less about nostalgia and more about experiencing something old that's made new again.

So cheers to the modding community!
