Multimedia Services

The Office of Multimedia Services (MMS) provides Web, Photography, Videography and Training and Education services to academic partners on campus. MMS offers some free and some fee-based services in these multimedia areas including web site architecture, content development, web design and production, database development, flash and video production, photography, custom application development, and streaming media. Conversion and trans-coding services, captioning, and copyright clearance are also available. MMS is committed to working with each individual department, group, or program to develop the best individual solution to their multimedia needs.

Our  Mission
To access and distribute multimedia content via available channels in compliance with The University of Alabama standards and policies. To provide tools and services for creating, capturing, processing, and producing original multimedia content. To provide training and support for using multimedia tools in teaching and learning; to foster and enhance continuous learning environments to keep pace with changing technologies.

Our Vision
To provide a seamless end user experience across multimedia tools, applications, and
services. To provide a consistent user experience across the university web sites that we design and manage. To support the mission, vision, and goals of The University of Alabama through the highest quality of multimedia services available.

Our Goals
CIT MMS partners with UA campus customers to define faculty web needs and then designs, develops, and tests faculty websites launched into the UA web environment. CIT MMS shoots, edits, and delivers high quality video services to UA faculty. CIT MMS provides the high quality still photography services to UA faculty. CIT MMS  provides enterprise level training and support for web based teaching tools to faculty and staff at UA.
