We offer industry-accredited undergraduate and post-graduate journalism programmes. Our students are expected to work across multimedia platforms and the accreditations set a benchmark for high quality professional training. This ensures that when our students graduate, they will be fully-equipped with the skills and knowledge they need to forge successful careers in journalism and the creative industries.

Our BA Honours Journalism programme has the three gold standard industry accreditations of excellence from the National Council for the Training of Journalists (NCTJ), the Broadcast Journalism Training Council (BJTC) and the Periodicals Training Council (PTC). This makes UCLan exceptional among other higher education journalism providers.

Our MA Broadcast Journalism and BA (Hons) Sports Journalism programmes are recognised as providing “general excellence in broadcast journalism training” by its accrediting body – the Broadcast Journalism Training Council (BJTC).

The MA Magazine Journalism programme has two standard industry accreditations of excellence from the Periodicals Training Council (PTC) and the National Council for the Training of Journalists (NCTJ).

The MA Journalism course is also accredited by the NCTJ.
