It’s all coming together

Wait. Please don’t unsubscribe just yet. This week I moved the Blogstar database and the email subscription list to one location so you will receive an email alert each time I post on Blogstar whether you are a member of the database or have signed up to subscribe to posts by email.

This post is to let you know that. And to also let you know that I am seven weeks into my Year of Digital Thinking series. If you haven’t read any or all of the posts yet, please take a look. I hear they are helpful and will get you thinking.

Week eight will arrive next week because I have spent most all of this week working on a pitch, that took place today, and it ate up near all my time. I don’t want you to walk away empty-handed so here’s three things I learnt/discovered that made it a great week for me.

  • This cross over bag is the best bag in the world
  • Todd and Diane from White on Rice Couple have produced the best cook book I have seen in a very long time. It’s the perfect balance of familiarity and stretch. Bountiful. (The picture above is the first thing I am making from their book, Roasted broccoli and grilled cheese melt.)
  • Woo Commerce is really easy to install and is a great option if you want to add a shop to your WordPress platform.

What did you learn/discover this week?

Welcome to the Helping Hand Project

Let’s do a project together. Can you please post a goal and a story on Go Mighty and tag it #helpinghand. You  need to ask for help in your story, something we are not always good at doing — it could be help with a project or a task or a problem or something you [...]

Now I understand what I do

I have to do to discover what I’m doing. Like the old lady, I don’t know so well what I think until I see what I’m doing, then I have to do it again. Thanks to Flannery O’Connor for telling me this.

There’s a mid-blog-crisis amongst Blogospherians

I ticked off a goal on gomighty.com this week. It was taking my friend, Hilary, (above) to ALT Summit 2013 with the Go Mighty team so she could decide if blogging was how she wanted to expand her creative footprint. This will have been my 3rd ALT summit experience and it’s one of my favorite [...]

Why I Will Aways Be a Beginner

WHEN it’s the beginning, there is no looking back. Nowhere to look back to. Go Mighty is my new beginning, but beginnings are old for me. I’ve been building media offerings from beginning all my career. My first real job was as associate editor on an as yet created/designed/launched section for The Australian newspaper, [...]

Want to know how social media really works? Just ask the Military Channel.

A lesson in Clever Social Media via a note from my husband to our son: Monte, Yesterday morning I awake and realise a kidney stone has started passing its way down my urethra (that’s the bit that hurts ’cause it (the urethra) is smaller than the stone, and yet ever so delicately connected to [...]

Gretchen Rubin’s Mighty Happy Book Launch Party!

There’s a book that sits by my bed, always. It’s part anchor, part chocolate. Something I dip into to find thoughts to hold onto when I need a hand, or more. It’s called The Happiness Project, by Gretchen Rubin. I met Gretchen last year at Mighty Summit and have loved all the times we’ve spent [...]

How blogging got this party started

A favorite moment in time: checking last minute details for the end of year celebration dinner my husband and I held last month for 20 parents/friends from our daughter’s school. When Rob and I began planning our first big NYC party, blogs were far from my thoughts. I was thinking mostly about food. We had [...]

What’s Next?

It’s been a short year filled with long days. Last April I launched Blogstar, a community I treasure where everyone can be heard and good work is rewarded. Along the way I’ve met so many inspiring, creative, smart and driven people through the Interwebs, and been lucky enough to work with a good few over the [...]
