Curious about who they are and what they’re doing?

A short list includes: three U.S. Congressmen, a Pulitzer Prize–winning historian, the director of the National Institutes of Health, a Tony-nominated Broadway and film actor, a New York Times columnist, CEO of Habitat for Humanity International, presidents of five colleges or universities, a Tony– and Olivier Award–nominated musical composer, a nineteenth-century art expert at Sotheby’s, heads of programming for Smithsonian Television Networks and Comedy Central, CEO of Ancestry.com, owner of the Ellevate Network for women and top 25 in the most-followed influencers list on LinkedIn, one of Explore Magazine’s top ten adventurers in Canada, president of the Pew Research Center and former executive editor of the Wall Street Journal online, commissioner of the Atlantic Coast Conference, assistant general manager of the San Francisco Giants, Google’s vice president of digital content, cofounder of GlobalGiving.org, founder of Indiegogo.com, cofounder and cochairman of the board of the Motley Fool, and cofounder and director of Vivobarefoot and United Nude shoes.

Okay, so that’s not such a short list. But it barely scratches the surface when you’ve got a 3,000-member family!

The alumni are also a generous bunch, who give back to the Morehead-Cain Program in countless ways. They help select each new class of Morehead-Cain Scholars. They visit Chapel Hill and participate in the Morehead-Cain Alumni-in-Residence Program and the Alumni Speaker Series. They are thought partners for the Foundation staff and trustees, providing insight and inspiration for the continual improvement of the program. They host Morehead-Cain Scholars as Summer Enrichment Program interns. And they support the program financially through donations to the Morehead-Cain Scholarship Fund.
