Gowanus Arts Building

The Gowanus Arts Building is located several blocks from the infamous Gowanus Canal in the industrial neighborhood of the Gowanus and hosts its own burgeoning new artists community in a 15,000 square foot former soap factory which now provides work space for over a dozen painters, dancers, sculptors, musicians, architects and photographers.

Gowanus Main Space

This is Spoke the Hub’s main rental, rehearsal and performance space.

The space offers renters:

• Almost 2,400 square feet with an open performance area of approximately 38′ x 35′ of beautiful loft space (third floor walk-up)
• 75 person capacity
• Three exposed brick walls of windows
• Sprung oak floor
• Mirrors
• CD and iPod dock
• A separate bathroom and lobby area
• Theatrical lighting system (for performances ONLY)
• Wrap-around theater curtain
• Portable risers for tiered seating

Gowanus – Studio G

Rehearsal and performance space. It is on the 1st floor of the building.

The space offers renters:

• Approximately 20′ x 40′ floor space
• CD Player and iPod Sound System
  (provide your own aux cable if needed)
• Wood floor
• 4 large moveable mirrors on casters (must remain in the space)
• A/C, Heating
• Ballet barres
• Private bathroom
• Small seating area and open alcove
• Windows facing Douglass Street

Gowanus Studio B

This is Spoke the Hub smaller rehearsal and performance space. It is a third floor walk-up with no elevator.

The space offers renters:

• 30′ x 18′ floor space
• CD Player and iPod Sound System
  (provide your own aux cable if needed)
• One exposed wall of windows and skylight
• Sprung oak floor
• Mirrors
• A/C, Heating
• Ballet barres
• Piano
• Private bathroom

Gowanus Studio C

This is Spoke the Hub smallest space. Ideal for small classes i.e. writing, art, music etc. It is a third floor walk-up with no elevator.

The space offers renters:

• 13′ x 11′ floor space
• Sprung oak floor
• A/C, Heating
• Small kitchenette with fridge and sink
• Tables and chairs available

• SUBWAY: R train to Union Street at 4th Avenue
• SUBWAY: B, D, Q, 2, 3, 4 or 5 trains and the LIRR to Atlantic Avenue/ Barclay Center Station
• BUS: B37 to 3rd Avenue and Douglass Street
• BUS: B63 to 5th Avenue and Douglass Street
