Current Status and Future Expectations

On July 11, 2012, the DOE Office of Science granted CD-1 approval to Mu2e. Most recently (March, 2015) the DOE granted CD-2 approval to baseline the experiment and CD-3b approval for the ground breaking of our experimental hall. A DOE CD-3a approval for the procurement of our superconducting cable occured in July, 2014. We are now working towards DOE CD-3c approval.

The May 2014 Report of the Particle Physics Project Prioritization Panel (P5) recommended that the Mu2e project be completed under all funding scenarios. See Table 1, page 17, and Recommendation 22, page 15.
