Summer Internships in
Science and Technology

The Summer Internships in Science and Technology (SIST) program focuses on giving opportunities in science and technology to undergraduate college students currently enrolled in four-year colleges and universities in the United States. Internships are offered to students majoring in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Computer Science. These internships offer a chance for approximately twelve college students to work with Fermilab scientists or engineers on a project within the context of laboratory research..

The twelve-week program consists of a work assignment, an academic lecture series, and a final report that the intern presents orally to the Fermilab staff and submits to the Laboratory in writing. (Check out the presentations and papers from last year and our archive from previous years.) There are no grades or quizzes. The SIST Committee will follow the intern's progress to help ensure his/her maximum benefit from the program.
