Line up, sign up, for film auditions. This is literally
what you may be doing when you go out on film auditions,
and a lot of it. Sometimes there are hundreds of people
lined up waiting for their chance to go up in front of the
all-powerful casting director and do their thing.
The best way to make a splash at film auditions is to imagine
that you are not at a film audition at all, but rather that
you are acting in a major motion picture directed by Brian
de Palma and you are going to give a blow out performance.
Remember that people whose business it is to run film auditions
can pick up on it if you are giving off a vibe of being
jaded or tired of the process. Keep it fresh and energetic,
and enthusiastic.
In the history of film auditions, careers have been made
and broken, and even after an actor has been in a number
of successful projects, they still have to continue to go
out on film auditions if they don't want their career to
grind to a halt. So make it a point to learn as much as
you can from them, and act as if your life depends on it,
because your acting career does.
