Booting into DOS from a USB Disk:

  • Free
  • Professional
  1. Prepare and insert a bootable USB disk.
  2. Download Free version of Active@ KillDisk.
  3. When the download window appears, unzip and save the executable to the USB drive.
  4. or use the 1 step Bootable USB Creation:
Download and run the Bootable USB Disk Creator for Active@ KillDisk.
  1. Create a bootable USB (Download and run the Bootable USB Disk Creator for Active@ KillDisk).
  2. Create a folder on you hard drive called Killdisk.
  3. Download your file (the one from the link you received after purchasing the software) to this folder.
  4. You should have a folder called killdisk, with a file KD-SETUP.ZIP in it. This file is a ZIP archive containing all files you need. Extract files from the KD-SETUP.ZIP archive into the Killdisk folder.
  5. You will now have a folder containing kd-setup.zip and some other files. Copy to a USB KILLDISK.EXE, KD_REAL.EXE and DOS4GW.EXE.
  6. Boot with a bootable disk.
  7. If killdisk and dos4gw.exe files are on the bootable USB, run killdisk. If they are on a different USB, remove the bootable USB and insert the USB that contains killdisk, and run killdisk.

Bootable ISO Image for DOS:

  • Free
  • Professional
  1. Download Bootable ISO Image of Active@ KillDisk to burn CD.
  2. This downloads an ISO IMAGE (not a regular file) that needs to be burned to the CD AS AN IMAGE (not as an added file).
  1. Download killdisk
  2. to burn CD.
  3. This downloads an ISO IMAGE (not a regular file) that needs to be burned to the CD AS AN IMAGE (not as an added file).
  4. Put the purchased software file on a different CD.
  5. Boot from the prepared CD image (see above #2).
  6. Switch CD's and run the purchased version of the software.
  7. Alternatively, if you are comfortable with ISO images, there is a program WINISO (made by a different software company) that allows you to alter ISO images.
You could use this software to remove the killdisk.exe file that is in the demo ISO image, and replace it with the killdisk.exe you got from your purchased version. Then you should have a single bootable CD with the purchased version of the software.
