Welcome to STANDARD

UCL together with TfL are starting work on a 3-year EPSRC-funded research project to investigate spatio-temporal characteristics of data from transport networks. The project launch workshop took place on the 18th of May, 2009 where initial ideas and directions of the research were presented. The STANDARD project encompasses and builds upon a broad range of modelling approaches in spatio-temporal analysis, complexity science and state of the art 3D visualisation. This website presents the research objectives and outcomes of the STANDARD project and seeks to provide a forum to discuss the themes of network complexity, travel behaviour and spatio-temporal data mining that will underlie this work. We would like to use this forum to encourage contributions from interested parties in government, industry and academia in order to further the project outcomes.

24/06/2010 Many congratulations to STANDARD team member Berk Anbaroglu, who has been awarded Travel Grant (£1,200) to participate in the JIC-TDHM-GIS conference from the International Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ISPRS).

24/06/2010 - The STANDARD team has been represented by three of its members –Dr. Jiaqiu Wang, Berk Anbaroglu, James Haworth - with two joint papers with Dr Tao Cheng at the Joint International Conference on Theory, Data Handling and Modelling in Geospatial Information Science (ISGIS) which was held at Hong Kong between 26 -28 May 2010. Another of Dr. Cheng's research students, Artemis Skarlatidou, also presented her paper at the conference.

11/02/2010 - The STANDARD Project was the subject of the weekly Geomatics Seminar in CEGE at UCL; presented by Dr. Tao Cheng. A PDF of the presentation can be found here.
