The MI Retail Conference & Expo, organised by MI Pro publisher, Intent Media, is moving The Brewery in London to Whittlebury Hall near Northampton and will take place on Wednesday 26th June 2013.

The established format of MIRC will remain in place, with a morning conference and afternoon expo, but the new location offers cost savings, space and flexibility for event partners and a wider catchment area for invited retailers. It will also enable dealers and suppliers to enjoy extended evening networking at the after show party, which will feature live music and a Battle of the Bands competition for store staff.

Event partners will benefit from the extra space available in the adjoining expo rooms with Platinum partners enjoying a whole room to themselves and Gold partners sharing space. Exhibition set-up will be available the night before, enabling exhibitors to also enjoy the morning conference.

“After three successful years at The Brewery, we wanted to freshen the event and keep improving the package for our partners and retailers,” said MI Pro managing editor, Ronnie Dungan. “We know that we need to keep MIRC economical and Whittlebury Hall enables us to keep costs frozen while at the same time providing a venue with a wider range of possibilities.

“The format of the event, with the conference in the morning and expo in the afternoon, won’t change, but our partners will enjoy increased exhibition space in Whittlebury’s purpose-built business meeting rooms, all next door to each other. We expect that the new location will also enable those dealers that couldn’t make it down to London to come along for the first time.

“There is also much greater scope for corporate entertaining and networking at the venue. You can stay over for the after event party, there’s a spa, golf course and even Silverstone racing circuit right next door.”

Last year’s event, sponsored by Musikmesse, attracted 250 retailers with event partners including Roland, Yamaha, JHS, Barnes and Mullins, Casio, Marshall, Rotosound, Pioneer, Peavey, Korg, Audio-Technica, Intermusic, Elixir, Tanglewood and Mel Bay among others.
