The AS Personnel Office is located in the Viking Union, room 505.


The AS Personnel Office is responsible for the Human Resources of the Associated Students. This includes, but is not limited to, upholding all aspects of the AS Employment Policy, orchestrating and overseeing all AS student employee hiring, processing all employment paperwork for AS student employees, the placement of work-study positions, and organizing AS-wide employee recognition and Staff Development. The current office is charged with assessing the needs of the organization concerning day-to-day activities and supporting AS employees whenever possible.

All Classifications Interview Questions:

Director/Associate Director/Assistant Director

  • Tell us how you have addressed a situation where there were varying opinions within your group about how to accomplish a goal?
  • Describe a time when you managed a budget at work, personally, or for an organization.  How would you apply that experience to managing a budget in this position?
  • Leadership comes in a variety of ways such as group events, activities, and class projects among many other things, when presented with a leadership opportunity, what role do you tend to take?
  • Tell us about a time when you had a disagreement with a friend, classmate, or colleague, and how you resolved it?

Coordinator

  • In this position you may be supervising other student employees and/or volunteers. What is your experience related to supervision, and how will you apply it to empower others and keep them motivated throughout the school year?
  • Describe a time when you managed a budget at work, personally, or for an organization.  How would you apply that experience to managing a budget in this position?
  • Leadership comes in a variety of ways such as group events, activities, and class projects among many other things, when presented with a leadership opportunity, what role do you tend to take? 
  • Describe to us the steps you took to organize, plan and complete a project that had a deadline?

Assistant Coordinator

  • Describe to us the steps you took to organize, plan and complete a project that had a deadline.
  • Tell us about a creative solution you developed to solve a problem.
  • This position requires you to work with little supervision at times, describe a time when you had to work on a project unsupervised.
