Our dedicated and enthusiastic army of volunteers fuels every facet of 826 Boston’s free programs. Join a troop of more than 6,000 teachers, students, and writers from across Boston and:

• help a student read a book in our after-school program
• tutor the burgeoning author of the next Great American Novel
• guide the students on our Student Editorial Board
• craft the perfect capstone event for our annual Write-A-Thon
• man the helm of the Greater Boston Bigfoot Research Institute

If you’re interested in tutoring, leading a workshop, or working with 826 Boston in any way, attend a new volunteer meeting! All volunteers are required to attend an orientation & training which lasts about two hours. We will go over all the programming we run, helpful tips & tricks, role-play our new tutoring skills, and talk about strategies for working with students of different ages, skills, and needs.
