Abbas Zaki
Abbas Zaki is a senior official in Fatah. He is currently a member of the Fatah Central Committee and (since 2009) the Commissioner of Relations with Arab Countries and Relations with China. He was the PLO Ambassador in Lebanon until 2009 [Ma'an, independent Palestinian news agency, Sept. 10, 2009].

He remains a close associate of PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas and has also been chosen on several occasions to deliver speeches in Chairman Abbas’ name.
Abbas and Zaki’s close working relationship is an indicator of Zaki’s seniority in PA government, thereby making his statements and positions on various issues all the more significant. Palestinian Media Watch has documented numerous statements by Abbas Zaki glorifying terror and denying Israel’s right to exist. For instance, Zaki stated in 2011 on Al-Jazeera TV that that the goal is for Israel to be “removed from existence.” He went on to say that “this is not a [stated] policy. You can’t say it to the world. You can say it to yourself.”

The following section documents relevant statements made by Abbas Zaki:
Fatah official: Israel has “the highest level of global terror”
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Jan. 26, 2016
Headline: “Zaki: The Israeli occupation is the highest and most criminal level of global terror”
“Fatah Central Committee member and Fatah Commissioner for Arab and China Relations Abbas Zaki said that the anti-terror coalitions arising in our region need to understand that the Israeli occupation is the highest level of global terror.’”

Fatah official to Moroccan official: Middle East turmoil meant to destroy Arab countries so the “Zionist entity” will remain the supreme power in the region
Source: Ma’an, independent Palestinian news agency, Jan. 21, 2016
Headline: "The US is no longer the only player in international politics"
"Fatah Central Committee member and Fatah Commissioner of Arab Relations and Relations with China Abbas Zaki met today [Jan. 20, 2016], Wednesday, with Mustapha Bakkoury, chairman of the Moroccan Authenticity and Modernity Party… Zaki noted that the wars, clashes, and sectarian conflicts rocking a number of Arab countries, under different names, are intended to tear apart the Arab homeland and create a new Sykes-Picot that will divide what is already divided, dismantle and crumble the Arab peoples, collapse their countries, and destroy their economic, human, scientific, and military power. This is so that the Zionist entity will remain the supreme and hegemonic military and scientific power in the region."

Sykes-Picot Agreement – A secret agreement between Britain and France negotiated by French diplomat François Georges-Picot and Briton Sir Mark Sykes and concluded in May 1916. The agreement had Russia’s approval and specified Britain’s and France’s proposed spheres of influence and control in the Middle East if the Ottoman Empire was defeated in World War I.
The plan was revealed in 1917 in the Russian press, and subsequently in the British press, angering the Arabs as it contradicted promises of independence made to them - on the condition they helped fight against and bring down the Ottoman Empire. The plan caused lasting distrust on the part of the Arabs in relation to Western countries.

Posted text: "In the presence of Martyr Hassan Albo, the Al-Quds University graduated a new class of graduates of the faculty of law – the class of Martyrs (Shahids) Muhannad Halabi and Hassan Albo, Martyrs of the Al-Aqsa Intifada. In addition, Fatah Central Committee member Abbas Zaki, Attorney General Abd Al-Ghani Al-Aweewi, and university representative Rafiq Abu Ayyash were present."

Hassan Albo – 23-year-old Palestinian killed in clashes between Palestinians and Israeli soldiers in Halhoul, near Hebron, on Nov. 13, 2015. Palestinian sources say he was killed by Israeli gunfire. The Israeli army is investigating the incident.

Muhannad Halabi - 19-year-old Palestinian terrorist who killed 2 Israelis, Rabbi Nehemiah Lavi and Aharon Bennett, and injured Bennett’s wife, Adele, and their 2-year-old son in a stabbing attack in the Old City of Jerusalem on Oct. 3, 2015. Following the attack, he was shot and killed by Israeli security forces. Prior to his attack, in a post to his private Facebook page, the terrorist referred to recent terror attacks as part of a "third Intifada,” and said that it was a response to Israel’s actions at the Al-Aqsa Mosque and that the Palestinian people would not “succumb to humiliation.” This is a reference to the PA libel that Israel is plotting to take over and destroy the Al-Aqsa Mosque and to the PA's portrayal of Jews praying on the Temple Mount as "an invasion of the Al-Aqsa Mosque."

Fatah official about "American infernal plot": The US created ISIS to make an Islamic state as pretext to create a Jewish state
Source: Al-Mashriq (independent Iraqi newspaper), Jan. 10, 2016
Headline: "Palestinian leader Zaki to Al-Mashriq: The essence of the American plan in the region - an ISIS state against the Jewish state! Israel takes [Hezbollah leader] Hassan Nasrallah very seriously, and the Palestinians have not used Iran's support"
"PLO leadership member [Fatah Central Committee member and Fatah Commissioner of Arab Relations and Relations with China] Abbas Zaki linked the establishment of an Islamic state under the auspices of ISIS with the establishment of the Jewish state on the land of Palestine. He described the plan to establish these two states as the revival and realization of the American concept for the region.  The Fatah Central Committee member and Fatah Commissioner of Arab Relations and Relations with China [Abbas Zaki] stated in an interview with Al-Mashriq: 'The American plot began by targeting the heart of the Arab nation, by destroying Iraq and Syria, and weakening Egypt.' He clarified: 'The strong Arab states did not receive support that would enable them to deal with Israel and stop its spread on Arab land.' Abbas Zaki stated: 'ISIS is an American product, necessary for the establishment of an Islamic state in order to justify the existence of a Jewish state, in which there is no place for Palestinians.' He explained: 'The dismantling of Arab societies by taking advantage of the sectarian factor is part of the infernal plot to dismantle the Arab nation (ummah), split it, and kill its spirit of solidarity.'

Fatah leader praises young Palestinians for heeding PA call: “They succeeded in making Israel worry, with rocks and knives”
Source: Facebook page of Fatah Central ‎Committee Member Abbas Zaki, Jan. 4, 2016

Member of Fatah Central Committee, Abbas Zaki:
“From where did the reaction come when [PA President] Mahmoud Abbas and the political leadership announced that we cannot take it any longer, in other words, that we will not agree to a PA without authority and an occupation without cost [to Israel]? Who took action? The young from the Oslo generation who are in the prime of their youth did, [those] whom Allah chose and loved. They chose the path of Martyrdom (Shahada). Yes, they marched of their own will on the illuminated path to Paradise. They succeeded in making Israel worry, with rocks and knives, and in imposing a curfew on several parts of our occupied land, the so-called State of Israel.”

Fatah official: The “Intifada will soon become a civil rebellion”
Source: Al-Quds, Dec. 31, 2015
Headline: “2016 will be the closing of the page of relying on talks and negotiations and the beginning of self-fulfillment in the field”
“Fatah Central Committee Member [and Commissioner of Arab Relations and Relations with China] Abbas Zaki told… the Al-Quds [newspaper]: ‘On the occasion of this event (i.e., the celebrations of the anniversary of the launch of Fatah), we ask Allah, first, to have mercy on the Martyrs’ (Shahids) souls, and we recall the heroic acts, the first prisoner, the first Martyr, and the large number of Israeli fatalities in the Hijazi operation (Mahmoud Hijazi attempted to blow up Israel’s National Water Carrier in 1965. In contrast to Zaki’s statement, Israel did not suffer any casualties –Ed.)… The Fatah Central Committee member added: ‘Despite the deceptive peace process, the [Israeli] prisons are filled with Fatah members, and the graves are also overflowing with them.’ In addition, he emphasized that history will bear witness that most young people who walked the path of light to Heaven are Fatah members, [who have done it] without being instructed to do so by the leadership. He stated: ‘We now concur that the Intifada will soon become a civil rebellion, and that we should regulate our internal situation and restore the appreciation and veneration of the PLO which almost disappeared in the absence of its departments and plans.”

Intilaqa – "The Launch" – the launch of Fatah on Jan. 1, 1965, when Mahmoud Bakr Hijazi carried out its first terror attack against Israel, attempting to bomb Israel's National Water Carrier. He was sentenced to 30 years in prison but  was released in 1971 and returned to Lebanon in an exchange deal with Fatah for Shmuel Rozenvasser, an Israeli citizen who was abducted by Fatah terrorists in 1970.
