How does the treatment work?
Medical Microdermabrasion is performed by using a small pen like device with a controlled flow of very fine aluminium oxide crystals onto the surface of the skin. These crystals are directed at the skin to remove dead and damaged cells, and help brighten and renew skin colour and texture. The aesthetic practitioner will adjust the strength of the abrasion depending on individual skin appearance and characteristics.
Who is suitable for Medical Microdermabrasion?
Medical Microdermabrasion can be used on all skin types, people of all ages and for both men and women. Although mainly used on the facial area, it is also popular on the back, shoulders and chest.
The treatment involves the removal of dead or ageing skin cells, bacteria on the skin and flaking texture to create an immediate improvement in your skin’s appearance. How long will the results last and how many sessions will I require?
After the initial treatment the skin will have a softer, smoother and younger glow. Improvement will continue throughout the treatment programme and generally fine lines, wrinkles and age spots become greatly diminished. A normal course of Medical Microdermabrasion is between four and eight treatments, approximately two weeks apart. The exact course of treatment can be discussed with the aesthetic practitioner.
