About Cassie
Hey guys! I am Cassie and I am so grateful for you being here.
A few details about the blog:
Bake Your Day is simply about my love for food, my love for people and my desire for living a good life. My life has always revolved around food and people. Everyone must eat, (almost) everyone loves food, and in my experience, everyone always ends up gathering in the kitchen. I started the blog in 2011 and blogged almost exclusively about food until 2015 when I was pregnant with our first baby. I pretty much took the next year off, which led me to desire to do more lifestyle-type blogging, which is the direction I’m heading now.
A little about me:
I’m crazy about snacks of any kind – popcorn, cheesy dips, spicy pretzels, chips & salsa, etc. I love raw cookie dough, brownie batter and no-bake cookies when the cookie mixture is way too hot to eat, but I do it anyway and burn my tongue. I’m head-over-heels in love with good crispy French fries, grilled cheese sandwiches and guacamole. I prefer a savory breakfast and will eat breakfast for breakfast, lunch and/or dinner. We usually eat fairly seasonally, and locally when possible. Since our daughter was born, it has become more important to me to pay attention what products and ingredients I am putting in, and on, and around my body. I love drinking ice cold water. But, you can usually find strong black, French pressed coffee in my mug in the morning, and I love a nice unsweetened iced tea in the afternoon. I might also be fond of a salty margarita, a smooth merlot, or an old fashioned with good bourbon.
I make a lot of my own beauty products, cleaning supplies, seasoning mixes, etc. I find myself constantly learning more about what is good for us and what isn’t and that is one of the most fun parts about cooking and running a household.
I’m an ESFJ. I drink too much coffee. I like coconut oil, making lists, new pens, fresh sheets, and Friends. And Friday Night Lights. Grey’s, Parenthood, and Nashville are also on my list. And Mad Men. Oh, Mad Men! I pretend I don’t like to workout, but I truly love the way a good run makes me feel. And if you couldn’t tell by my extensive TV listing, I am 100% a homebody.
My husband, Paul, is truly my other half. Paul is a full-time musician and full-time dad to our amazing daughter, Lucille Jane. We love to take adventures together and are always working on being better spouses for each other.
Question, comment, suggestion? I would love to hear from you.
