Artist Derek Ring has created a stunning piece of fan art that will give Cthulhu fans something to drool over. The piece is called "He is Risen." For those of you not familiar with the creature created by H.P. Lovecraft, the fictional deity was first introduced in a short story called "The Call of Cthulhu", which published in the pulp magazine Weird Tales in 1928. He's an evil entity that is worshiped by cultists who conduct human sacrifices in its name, which is what we are seeing in this epic illustration.
