OneBeat Alumni Spotlights March 2016 | Ft. Sequoyah School Workshop, Eva Salina New Release, Song Hee Kwon on Modernizing Pansori
Eduardo Valencia + Ami Kim | Sequoyah School Initiative OneBeat 2015 | US Sequoyah School, an independent school in Pasadena, California, recently collaborated with Chris Marianetti, Found Sound Nation Founder and OneBeat alumni Eduardo Valencia and Ami Kim to run a 1-day workshop for students to experience the joy of composing, performing and recording music. The day was part of a series of events to help launch the school’s new high school program, set to open in August of 2016. The workshop featured sessions on found sound improvisation, FSN’s “Street Studio City,” coupled with a radio piece workshop addressing social issues and a rhythm workshop where students wrote scores and later conducted pieces using graphical notation.
