Week 10 Game Inactives And Injury Updates

Tim McCullough, Managing Editor November 9, 2014
3:45 Update

Seahawks Inactives – TE Zach Miller, TE Tony Moeaki, G James Carpenter, LB Malcolm Smith, LB Bobby Wagner, FS Steven Terrell, SS Kam Chancellor

Broncos Inactives – RB Montee Ball, RB Kapri Bibbs, TE Virgil Green, T Paul Cornick, T Michael Schofield, LB Nate Irving, CB Tony Carter

Montee Ball ended up inactive after all. All this does in reinforce the idea that Hillman will continue to be the RB1 for Denver, something we’ve all expected. So even when Ball does come back you can count on him having no more than a secondary role in the backfield.

Raiders Inactives – QB Matt McGloin, TE David Ausberry, G Gabe Jackson, G Tony Bergstrom, CB T.J. Carrie, DB Chimdi Chekwa, CB Carlos Rogers

Rams Inactives – RB Trey Watts, TE Alex Bayer, G Brandon Washington, DT Ethan Westbrooks, LB Daren Bates, SS Maurice Alexander, CB Marcus Roberson

Giants Inactives – RB Rashad Jennings, DT Jay Bromley, CB Mike Harris, DE Kerry Wynn, OT James Brewer, G Adam Snyder, G Brandon Mosley

Cardinals Inactives – QB Logan Thomas, RB Stepfan Taylor, TE Darren Fells, NT Alameda Ta’amu, LB Desmond Bishop, LB Glenn Carson, LB Thomas Keiser

Brandon Pettigrew is the lone healthy TE but not a recommended starter in Fantasy.

Jets Inactives – QB Matt Simms, WR Walter Powell, G Dakota Dozier, OL Wesley Johnson, DL T.J. Barnes, LB Ikemefuna Enemkpali, DB Darrin Walls

Chiefs Inactives – WR Donnie Avery, DB Jamell Fleming, C Eric Kush, QB Aaron Murray, DB Daniel Sorensen

Bills Inactives – RB Phillip Tanner, WR Mike Williams, WR Marcus Easley, G Cyril Richardson, LB Randell Johnson, CB Ron Brooks, S Jerome Couplin

Note that Fred Jackson and Sammy Watkins are indeed playing today; however, this is going to be a difficult matchup against the Chiefs and the Bills will struggle to put points on the board. Watkins could be limited by his groin injury and Jackson may not  be quite ready for a full workload. In other words, consider other options if available for both players.

Falcons Inactives – QB Sean Renfree, WR Freddie Martino, T Jonathan Scott, T Cameron Bradfield, DT Cliff Matthews, LB Tyler Starr, CB Javier Arenas

Buccaneers Inactives – RB Doug Martin, WR Robert Herron, TE Luke Stocker, T Anthony Collins, G Kadeem Edwards, DE Michael Johnson, CB Alterraun Verner

That does it for the early games. We’ll be back with updates for the 4:00 games. Montee Ball is the only player we’re monitoring then, but he is expected to play. If you’re considering Ball today, be advised that he is not expected to get more than 5-10 touches in a change of pace role with Ronnie Hillman continuing to be the featured back.

10:35 Update

Jason LaCanfora is reporting that both Sammy Watkins and Fred Jackson will play today barring a significant setback during team warmups. Jackson is still a risky start but now Anthony Dixon becomes someone you need to bench, as he will almost certainly see fewer touches with Jackson playing. The presence of both Jackson and Watson certainly makes this a different game but it could still be a tough battle for points, especially for the Bills.

Welcome to the Sunday game day edition of The Xpert Eye. As we do every Sunday, we’ll list all of the injury updates and game day inactives for the Sunday afternoon games. Updates will be added frequently, especially between 11:15 and Noon, which is when teams report their inactives to the league. As always, the most recent update will appear at the top of the document.

Teams on Bye for Week 10

Patriots, Vikings, Redskins, Chargers, Colts, Texans

Players Already Declared OUT

Khiry Robinson, Pierre Thomas, Donnie Avery, Nick Foles, Zach Miller, Stepfan Taylor

Injured Players We’re Watching

Lamar Miller  (AC Joint sprain) – Miller is expected to play but there is a chance that his touches may be limited due to this injury. He’s a risky play, especially against a tough Lions defense.

Sammy Watkins (Groin) – Watkins missed practice both Thursday and Friday, which is quite concerning. Without Watkins, the Buffalo offense could be in big trouble in what is already expected to be a low scoring affair. Robert Woods gets a bump (a very small bump) in value if Watkins sits. If you have other options at WR, Watkins is best left on the bench.

Charles Sims (Ankle) – Sims participated in practice so he’s likely to play despite popping up on the injury report. He’s listed here because we’re not sure he’s going to be active after being a healthy scratch last week. [UPDATE] – Adam Schefter is reporting that Sims will make his NFL debut today.

Vincent Jackson (Knee) – Jackson practiced fully on Friday so he’s expected to play despite the questionable designation on the injury reports.

Mark Ingram (shoulder) – Ingram is expected to play despite being limited most of the week.

Tony Romo (back) – The Cowboys actually upgraded Romo to probable on the injury report and all indications are that he will play. Still, Jacksonville’s aggressive pass rush is among the league leaders in sacks, so this will be a dangerous game for Romo, who might not make it through four quarters. He’s a very risky Fantasy play today, one you’re advised to consider very carefully, especially if you have other options at QB.
