Having just packed up and organized all my things, I found a bunch of visual goodies I had tucked away in random places all year – including business cards, letters, photographs, and inside jokes! To make my new work space feel more at home and me-like, I selected some of my current favorites and made a mini mood-board! I am so used to making boards on the computer for my clients or for the blog so it was such a nice change to be able to handle the composition with physical objects. I plan to do this more, rotate and switch out all the visuals, and share the ones that I think are worthy of showing!! More coming soon + !!
…What’s on the board?
…Here are some of my favorites +
An orange print by Jen Gotch | An invitation from Kinfolk to their Dinner Series | Polaroids taken by Max Wanger | A postcard from the Ace Hotel in Palm Springs | Lots of business cards, including – My favorite place to get pastries in Los Angeles: Proof Bakery, a client from 2012: Cire Alexandria, a talented friend of mine: Kate Miss Jewelry, a drink master: Pharmacie LA, a memory from a long time ago: Magnolia Bakery, one of the most delicious pizzas I have ever eaten: Dove Vivi, a wood lover: Herriott Grace, and more…

This makes me want to create my own mood board. I’ve sort of tried “personalizing” my bulletin board at work, but there’s only so far i can take it.
This is sort of a silly question, but Some of those business cards don’t have pins in them (from what I can tell) — are they held up with tape or some sort of tack?

@C.,
Yes yes some of the cards are taped up.
I didn’t want to put holes in them!!
…They’re too pretty to mess up!
It’s really inspiring and gorgeous. I have a little folder right now with my favorite images, just waiting till we move to get them all up. xo

I love this! tactile moodboards are the best kind. for the most recent project i’ve been working on, i did this same thing…nice to get off pinterest for a change, ha! hope you’re getting settled into your new home nicely. and if i may ask a favor…go have a tri-tip sandwich at brazil fresh squeeze cafe for me (in berkeley). yum. I miss that place so much! :D

This is so cool! I find myself keeping random things that I think are pretty, so this would be great for me to do. Might have to try it soon!!

Nothing like a move to help unearth all sorts of treasures.
How are you settling in now that you’ve made it to the bay area?

Emma this is really inspiring and beautiful. I always keep little treasures like these but never do anything with them…gotta go get some cork board. ;)

this is really ‘inspirational’ :). oh and i can’t wait until you share more about your life now in berkeley, I spent part of my summer there and it was just perfect – the beach boys on the radio, peace signs everywhere and the most delicous ice cream sandwich at C.R.E.A.M. – sometimes clichés are really good :)!

love this! especially the dream catcher… i totally didn’t even realize that moving to sf meant leaving your awesome studio too. hope you’re transitioning well! :)

@JP,
That little dream catcher was made by a friend on the beach. He just gathered a bunch of stuff and BOOM*** a mini-catcher :)
…and yes, I had to leave my studio! So sad**
This is a lovely mixture of things!

Pretty Emma! i’m waffling right now between getting a real-life cork board and leaving the artwork around my desk up. i hope you’re settling well in the bay! don’t hesitate to ask for fun-times recommendations :)
