About Mr P @ kidd81.com

I am Paul Jamie Kidd, also known amongst many other names as ‘Mr P’, ‘PK’ and ‘kidd81′. Born in 1981 and named after the retro cartoon ‘Jamie and The Magic Torch’.

My first taste of design was roughly at the age of 10 I developed a unusual passion for designing football kits. Even though I wasn’t the best with a felt tip in my hand, I was pretty dedicated to what I was doing. I even sent some off to Nike and Mitre who sent me some gifts in return. I thought I was ace!

I collected my 10 GCSE’s, and a further 2 A-levels in Media Production and Sociology, I went on to study HND Media Production at The Grimsby Institute in 1999. Having had a taste of Scriptwriting, Desktop Publishing and Video Production, it was quite evident I was hooked on Web Design and Web Development. The course structure enabled me to learn a variety of relevant programs such as Dreamweaver, Director, Flash andPhotoshop. I walked away with a Distinction overall. I then went to complete my degree at the University of Lincoln (Hull Campus), where I gained a 2:1.

Since Graduating I have have just over seven years experience in the industry I love. I previously worked in Hull at Two Head design and Lincolnshire-based New Media Choice and in those years I have gained invaluable experience which has helped get where I am today. I am currently Senior Creative at BlueInkAgency.com and enjoying every minute of it! – In truth, how many jobs do you get paid for doing something you enjoy? Over the last year especially, I have been involved in an incredible amount of work for huge multi-national companies and I am hungry as ever to be the best!

Although I have an all round passion for digital print, I have a web design and development background. I am fully conversant with XHTML, CSS2, JQuery and also experimental with Flash.

In March 2008, I was approahed by Web Designer Magazine to do a feature on me and my work. It was a real honour to be asked by someone who thought my work was worthy of a place thier publication. Me being the way I am bought all 8 copies which was in WH Smith and gave them to my friends and family. It was such an achievement and one of my best so far!

I see myself as a regular, but sometimes spontaneous guy with a not so average sense of humour! I like to think I have an infectious attitude to be the best at what I do. I would happily help anyone, I have always been like that.
