Data Science: A New Major The new data science major offers students a chance to learn about "big data" and prepares them for a career in a rapidly growing field.
Welcome to the Department of Statistics! Located in West Hall, through the iconic “West Engin Arches” on U-M’s central campus, the department offers top-ranked undergraduate and graduate programs. With renowned faculty members working on some of the most important problems of the day, and a fast-growing reputation as an international leader in statistical education and research, we continue to recruit the highest-quality faculty and students.
U-M Statistics is ranked as one of the top programs in the world. The Department of Statistics at the University of Michigan is widely regarded as one of the top programs of its kind.
