SOTRU and WFUV 90.7 FM Present: Letters to the Bronx

Residents Speak to Their City

spacer State of the Re:Union (SOTRU) is a nationally aired public radio show that travels the country to find out how cities and towns are building community, transcending challenging circumstances, and creating vital cultural narratives that make them unique.

For the show’s Fall season, we’ll be exploring the Bronx and partnering with WFUV to ask residents to write a letter to their borough. What would you say to the Bronx, if you could say anything? Whether you write from a place of love, anger, humor or hope, we want to hear your thoughts, stories or perspective on the city that surrounds you.

We’ll record some of the submissions to broadcast as part of the SOTRU Bronx episode and all others will be posted on the show’s website.

spacer Here are some guidelines:

  • All letters should start with, “Dear Bronx” and end the way you’d sign a normal letter, i.e. “Sincerely, John Bartlett”
  • Remember to refer to your city in the second person (you). We want these to sound like you’re speaking directly to the Bronx
  • Feel free to be as creative as you’d like, but please keep your letter to 400 words or less.

Send your letters to: cityletters@stateofthereunion.com.
