‘SATC’ Girls May Be Laughing All The Way To The Bank…
Sex and the City costumer Patricia Field thinks critics are being way too harsh on the sequel, which has been slammed as “a stinker.”
“I read some bad reviews,” Field told UsMagazine.com. “They don’t get it. Men don’t get it.”
Field says people shouldn’t take the film so seriously. “It’s fun!”
UsMagazine.com readers agree. In a poll, 62 percent voted that the movie isn’t terrible.
Writer-director Michael Patrick King told Us , “I wanted it to be a big, extravagant party.”
“The whole movie is a feast for the eyes,” added producer John Melfi.
Despite the criticism, Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker), Samantha (Kim Cattrall), Charlotte (Kristin Davis) and Miranda (Cynthia Nixon) may be laughing all the way to the bank. The chick flick is expected to rake in $60 million over the holiday weekend, and has already earned $3 million from 12:01 showings Thursday morning in 2,000 locations — a 20 hike from the first movie’s opening night.
