spacer For those who were craving some more from 2007’s wacky romantic comedy Knocked Up that starred Katherine Heigl and Seth Rogen as not so star-crossed lovers, will be delighted that The Wrap is confirming Judd Apatow will bring his signature humor back with a spin off comedy of sorts starring Leslie Mann & Paul Rudd. They’ll be reprising their roles as married couple Debbie (Heigl’s sister). and Pete respectively.

Moving up from supporting to lead status isn’t anything new for Paul Rudd as his star has been on the rise in recent years with lead roles in several films since Knocked Up while Leslie Mann is married to Apatow and has collaborated with her husband on many of his films.

Plot details are still unknown for the moment and no confirmation that Rogen and Heigl will reprise their roles also for any cameos but Apatow himself will be writing and directing the film with Universal Pictures scheduling production to begin later in the year in time to hit theaters June 1, 2012.
