Stop the PR and marketing overwhelm

When I first started coaching clients in how to do their own PR and marketing in 2002, the main question they asked was how do I market my service or product? They wanted specific suggestions of things that they could do to get the word out.
Today, however, the situation is very different. Almost every entrepreneur knows the things they could be doing, and there is a massive list; press releases, article syndication, video marketing and You Tube, direct mail, Twitter, writing for publications, tip sheets, Facebook, LinkedIn to name just a few! But what they don’t know is what they should be concentrating on and what tools are going to bring them the best return on their time, energy and financial investment. If I had to choose a word to describe many of my clients today it would be 'overwhelmed'.
There is literally too much to choose from, and unless you are going to shut up shop and start a PR and marketing firm instead, you are not going to be able to do everything. But how to choose? Here are some ideas that might take the stress it.
