Adsense on Hubpages Once Again Circles the Google Bowl

by Splork on February 1, 2012

Sadly my Adsense revenue via Hubpages has hit the Google fan being shredded into a bloody gore of lifeless pulp. I figured that the goodness would not last given Google’s on-again/off-again dance with Hubpage content. Unfortunately I figured correct.

Tracking a couple of my best keywords in which I use across various platforms including WordPress.com, Tumblr, Squidoo, self hosted, and until recently, the withering Hubpages, I find myself well regarded in Google’s sphere. The first couple of pages shows my prowess at ranking for my keyword within all those entities, until about 10 days ago when my Hubpage splattered itself into the bowels of the Google beast.

Unfortunately this occurred across many of my Hubpages. I was first concerned with my lack of Google earnings, cut well in half for the earnings period. Then upon noticing the ranking tankage decided to spend a few days lifting the pages via content improvement and additions. It has done little good for either my earnings or page rankings.

It is an annoyance. Google has flaunted Hubpages’ relevance time and again. Their constant algorithm jerk-offs leaves little consistency in the rankings. I have no idea if this is related to my personal mis-fortune with Hubpages/Google or if more people are seeing a revenue/ranking decline recently.

I really don’t care.

Neither Hubpages nor Adsense on Hubpages is worth the time and effort to get bent. I despise Adsense. I despise Google. I am completely ambivalent to Hubpages. If I can make some passive Adsense cash then that’s great. But I will not spend time chasing a payout from Google.

So I will push ahead undaunted in my desire to collect affiliate payouts. I stood peering into the shadows at my favorite urinal at the gym when something caught my eye above the rim. Advertisements from local enterprises. I made note of one sales page full of products and juicy keywords that I will collect onto a webpage over this weekend.

I try to stay alert for potential opportunities. I am a scavenger. Motivated marketers are keen on doing a grand job of determining what will sell for their product masters. I enjoy slinking about and snitching their ideas. They pay thousands of dollars for marketing advice. I simply pay attention.

Admitting a Mistake and a Return to the Web Sewers

by Splork on January 26, 2012

For the last 6 months or so I have attempted to regale you with my worldly views during the few times I poke my head out of the weeds. It has been a tiresome exercise and mostly a complete failure. This train wreck was my ambition to collapse two blogs into one and turn a relatively successful make money online blog into something more general because I was sick of hearing myself wax poetic SEO prose.

Lost Ball suffered greatly. 5 of my 11 readers split as far as I can tell. Writers are egotistical. I figured if readers liked me greasing the keys with well placed words on building websites then surely they would love to know my view on more cerebral topics. My ego swelled and deflated in a matter of 6 months. So be it.

My other website, that started out as a rant against the imperial federal government machine, was ignored like cartoons in a whorehouse. Funny thing was it got more traffic sitting idle than this piece of shit did with weekly updates. I hadn’t looked at the stats in months. Nor did I look at the comments. I had awesome leftist comments detailing my retardation. I had folks in conservative networks wishing to add me to their  readership and requests for articles. Ignoring that site was moronic.

Therefore:

as of today I will return Lost Ball back into the sewage from whence it came. Perhaps I will be motivated to discuss my efforts at making money online. It’s still as unproductive and ugly as you remember. If nothing else I suppose I will have the inclination to “review” the gross affiliate marketing “products” floating in my web sewer.

Looking around it sure feels lonely as most MMO folks have ceased their online journey. Guess they are boogieing offline to the sounds of Amway or some shit. However, I have unhitched my raft, lit my lantern, covered myself with my cloak  and with a twirl of my wind blown mustache have eased back into the mist shrouded web sewer with renewed vigor.

You will note that all survival, government, political bullshit posts have been removed from this blog. They have found a new home on Lipskip.com. Comments were boxed up and included with the move. I appreciated the efforts many of you made in voicing your opinion. I felt it was my duty to preserve your thoughts.

By all means please visit Lipskip (fucking stupid name) if you have an interest in what I might say about the government and survival. If nothing else I hope to irritate big government adherents.

One thing that will change on this pile of excrement is that eventually, assuming anyone bothers visiting, I will place advertisements into the white space in the hopes of capturing the clicks of search engine first time visitors. Long time fuckers will necessarily dismiss the monetization efforts. Hopefully my hypocrisy will not stray too far between my loathing of affiliate marketing products and my desire to stack crisp federal notes.

Apologies for the bullshit.

The People Fight Government Power Over Internet Freedom

January 21, 2012

I hope you were paying attention the last couple of weeks as the powerful government lobbyists worked hard to have their representatives in D.C. pass SOPA and PIPA. You were lucky, dear friends, that entities like Wikipedia, Reddit, Google and some 7,000 other websites took a stand FOR freedom. Left, right, conservatives, Socialists, it didn’t [...]

Keep the Internet Free From Government Intrusion – Resist SOPA

January 18, 2012

I support the protests over SOPA and PIPA. Bravo to Reddit, Wikipedia, WordPress, Google among others protesting these ridiculuos bills. I thought about Lost Ball going black but figured it already is. My government is the scourge of this earth. Too much power wielded by officials bent on controlling vast swaths of your life. Too [...]
