Crazy for Dessert Shooters

These mini desserts are a fun ending to a great meal. They’re so easy to make and an unexpected surprise!

Dessert shooters are just about the most adorable thing I have ever seen. Basically, your favorite decadent desserts are made pint-size in shot glasses and served with slender spoons. You can eat just one or have a trio to enjoy. And for parties? They are absolutely perfect.

Choose a fab recipe (such as my S’mores Dessert Shooter, Chocolate-Almond-Whip Dessert Shooter or Watermelon, Mint and Lime Dessert Shooter) and let’s get moving.

Tips for making:

  •  Glass shot glasses are best. But if you are making dessert shooters in bulk and don’t want to buy so many shot glasses, hit up the local party store for disposable plastic ones.

  • Dessert shooters demand small spoons, which can be purchased at some stores. But if you can’t find them or don’t want to pay top dollar, hit up the infant feeding section and look for spoons intended for babies, which will be small with longer handles.

  • To fill a shot glass with pudding, whipped cream, mousse or whatever, pipe it in. Just transfer the mixture to a resealable bag, snip a corner and pipe away.

  • Don’t forget the garnish! Little touches, like a mint leaf here or a couple of chocolate chips there, make all the difference when it comes to presentation.
