The Western Washington air show season will kick off Father's Day Weekend at the celebrated Olympic Air Show, hosted by the Olympic Flight Museum at the Olympic Regional Airport. This 14th annual event will be held June 16th and 17th, 9:00am-5:00pm. It will feature many recognized aerobatic performers and aircraft, as well as hertiage aircraft from the museum's collection. In addition, other attractions will include Budweiser Beer Garden, food and merchandise vendors, and a variety of youth activities will be onsite as well. This weekend event promises to deliver the excitement of heritage aviation that visitors anicipate.

The Olympic Flight Museum will host its annual Militaria Show and Sale on Saturday, March 31, 2010, from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. This event features collectors and dealers who display or sell an assortment of unusual or historic examples of field gear, uniforms, insignia, vintage vehicle parts and other military accessories. Come to look, buy, sell or trade! Vendor tables are still available for $25 each. Reservations are required for tables. General admission is $5.00 per person, museum members and children 6 and under is free. The Olympic Flight Museum is located at the Olympia Regional Airport on Old Highway 99. The Olympic Flight Museum will host the 12th Annual Paper Airplane Flight School & Contest on Saturday, February 25, 2012 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Open to participants of all ages, the event will focus on various types of folding and flying paper airplanes—from simple examples to the “cutting edge” in paper airplane technology! Experts will be on hand to guide you from construction, first flight and advance maneuvering. A distance and spot landing contest will begin at 2:30pm with prizes awarded in various categories. Admission for flight school participants is $7.00 which includes professional instruction, all construction materials and a snack. Spectator and general admission is $5.00. Saint Martins University and Local Entrepreneurs to Start New Companies and Host 2nd Annual Olympia Startup Weekend
On March 2-4 Saint Martin's University will play host to a local community of entrepreneurs that will get together to turn ideas into companies and jobs for the local economy during an annual event called Startup Weekend. Startup Weekend brings together software developers, graphic designers, artists and other professionals to take ideas and turn them in to companies.
The event will involve professionals joining teams on Friday night, March 2nd, based around participant's interest on viable business ideas and then working together until to Sunday, March 5th, to kick off businesses over the weekend by creating websites, mobile applications, business presentations, and product mock ups.
Startup Weekend Olympia in 2010 had an array of talented individuals including graphic designers, lawyers, green energy specialists, students, programmers, writers, and social marketing consultants.
Working together to bring Startup Weekend to Olympia this year are Heavy Guerrilla, MerchantOS, IRC Print and Design, The Business Examiner, and Digital Content Creator.
Organizations in the Olympia area that are supporting the 2012 Startup Weekend Olympia and that are helping make the event happen include the Thurston County Economic Development Council, Saint Martin's University, Thurston County Chamber of Commerce, and Thurston County Small Business Incubator.
The event starts at 5 p.m. on Friday, March 2nd, 2012 at Harned Hall on the St. Martins Campus and continues through Saturday to Sunday, March 4th, 2012. Registration prices vary depending on how participants will contribute their talents to the event and discounts are offered for students.
