spacer
WELCOME TO THE WEEKEND!
spacer
I thought I would introduce you to my cute new neighbor!  She is a 'bummer' lamb, that my neighbors are taking care of, and I think she is pretty sweet!

My theme for 2012 is SIMPLIFY,  I am excited to introduce you to the blog of the week, Sunny Simple Life, which is  all about keeping life simple and happy!

Hi everyone. I am Elaine from Sunny Simple Life and I am so excited to be here at Ladybird Ln. I am what I call a LIFE blogger and write about my pursuit of a simple frugal life. Making my home a cozy warm place for my family is my goal. I love to decorate for holidays and share bits of my home and garden.

Currently I am working with four other bloggers on a weekly series called Thrifty Living 2012, sharing our frugal ways of stretching our dollars in these tough economic times. Like I said I love decorating and fixing up my home but I love doing it for little or no cost.

I live in a classic 50's home and have the original 50's kitchen. I love to add seasonal touches and spend loads of time in here cooking and preparing recipes we love. Sharing my path to contentment here at home is what my blog is all about.

Thanks Elaine, I am excited to check out some more of your thrifty ideas!  Please go visit the Sunny Simple Life, and maybe plan an hour or two, she has so many great ideas!

You drive me wild... Valentine!

You drive me Wild Valentine!
I think Valentines Day is so much fun!  I wanted to make a treat for my little preschooler's class, that would be fun, but not loaded with sugar.  So I went with an animal theme.

spacer

I think it turned out pretty cute!  I decided (EEEk) this would be the first printable I would sell.  I have been thinking about opening an Etsy shop for over a year, and finally had the guts to put something in it.
spacer
If you would like you can purchase these printable Valentines HERE for $3.  I am trying to keep it very reasonable.

spacer

Item's Needed:
Valentines (You can buy my printables one HERE for $3, or make your own)
Plastic treat bags
Animal Crackers

spacer
Cut out Valentines, there is both a girl and boy version.  Fill in the to/from.

spacer

Fill a bag with animal crackers.  Trim the bag,  stapled the bag together, and then taped it to the back of my printable!

There you have it a sweet valentines for your kids!

I like to LINK to these parties!

I am excited to introduce our blog of the week, Mamie of Homegrown Beanes, she has a darling blog, please go check her out!

Hey Girls!  I am Mamie from Homegrown Beanes.  I am very excited to be the featured blogger at Ladybird Ln this week.   Thanks Carlee!

Let me tell you a little something something about myself.  I am a stay at home mom to three beautiful children.  String Beane is in kindergarten and he loves it.  Butter Beane is a wild and crazy 3 year old boy.  Jelly Beane is my only girl!  She is 17 months and a budding princess.  I am wife to the wonderful Mr. Homegrown.  We are trying our best to raise these little beanes to be happy, healthy, and to love and honor God.
My oldest son has a severe food allergy to milk/dairy.  I have changed my cooking style to make things safe for him.  All of the recipes that I use can easily be adjusted to be milk free.  If you have any questions about what I do to make food allergy friendly, let me know and I will tell you what has worked for us.
Here are some of my most popular recipes:

Lemonade Cake

Easy Egg Rolls

Applesauce Cake in a Jar

Come and visit me at Homegrown Beanes and check out my other recipes!

Thanks Mamie, I can't wait to see what you have been doing this week!

14 Days of Love: Love Letters!

 spacer
It is finally February, and Love is in the air! I was so excited when Ashley from Cherished bliss approached me about doing a Valentines Day Themed post for her 14 Days of Love!  My theme is Love Letters, and I am so excited to complete a project I have been thinking about for awhile!
 spacer
While I have been going through drawers and closets, I have found so many little letters.  Letters, sweet little notes, that my husband gave me over the years, that I wanted to keep, I just did not have a space for them.  So I needed to create somewhere to keep them, so I can enjoy and treasure them.

So I decided to make a box just for Love Letters!  I kept it simple and sweet!
spacer

Items Needed:
Box (I have had this for awhile it is a metal lunch box)
Scrapbook Paper (I bought La Creme Stack, the black is actually velvet like)
Mod Podge
Ribbon

Step 1:
spacer
Cut out paper in the correct size to wrap your box.  Carefully Mod Podge your paper onto your box.
Note to self, do not Mod Podge the velvet decals on my paper, it makes a black furry mess!

Step 2: Embellish
