About Alpha Tree Marketing
Hi, I’m Daniel Ruyter. I’m a dad, blogger, business owner and tech nerd (in disguise). I began my online presence with my website, Memoirs of a Single Dad as a way to share my experiences in dating as a single parent with others. My love for blogging and affair with technology grew out of that project and prompted me to launch this site and begin offering my services to other small businesses, webmasters and bloggers – many just like me.
Professional & Academic Background
Daniel Ruyter
In 1995 I pulled up my roots in Iowa and moved to Orlando, where in 1996 I attended the University of Central Florida majoring in (of course)…. Political Science and Business Administration. (Wait, WHAT?) I actually enjoyed both programs and felt like I got a very well-rounded education. I graduated from UCF in 1998 with my Bachelor’s degree and would also later go on to pursue my Master’s in MIS at UCF as well.
I knew from the beginning that politics weren’t for me, so instead of running for office I began my first job with a small software company in early 1998 doing technical support. Actually, I was the very first employee of the company hired as dedicated technical support. Two years later I was managing the technical support department, consisting of 10 employees supporting a user-base of thousands of customers.
From software technical support I moved on to a software quality assurance engineer position. I spent the next three years of my career trying to break what someone else built (boy, developers take things personally sometimes!). From there I moved into a management position with a higher education technology company as a desktop support manager, where I stayed for a few more years. I was presented with an opportunity to get into a mixed Business Analyst/SQL Developer position to further my technical career, which I have been doing now for the past two years.
Why You Should Consider Me
Experience. I’ve got it! From small start-ups to large Fortune 500 companies, I have experienced it all. I’ve been in the IT field since 1998, with my experience ranging from front-line user support to department management along with some PL/SQL development coding thrown in for good measure. I think I bring a lot to the table and I’m extremely passionate about the success of my clients. I have an extensive background in quality assurance (I love to ‘debug’ things), end-user training, management and development. I know how technology works. I know how people work – and best of all, I can explain them both on levels that an executive would or a seasoned developer would understand. Why not consider me for your next WordPress, Social Media or Search Engine Optimization consulting project?
