Ultimate 2012 NFL Mock Draft

Onebar, Lupagus and Lomas butt heads as they rotate picks for the third 2012 Ultimate NFL Mock Draft of the DraftSeason.

Updated Feb. 1st, 2012

spacer 1 Indianapolis Colts (Onebar) – Andrew Luck QB, Stanford
Not much else to say. With the Manning drama in Indy, this has become a lock.

2 St. Louis Rams (Lupagus) – Justin Blackmon WR, Oklahoma St.
If the Rams don’t trade this pick, I fully expect them to get this physical beast for Bradford to play a little catch with.

3 Minnesota Vikings (Lomas) – Morris Claiborne CB LSU
The most scheme diverse and NFL ready defensive back in this year’s draft. Minnesota had a rough year trying to stop the pass, and even with their bad DBs Jared Allen had 22 sacks. Imagine what a force he could be if they could take a team’s number one receiver away. The 49ers showed us this year that a great defense and a strong running game can get you far in the NFL despite popular belief that you have to have a great QB. That is nothing against Ponder, he has been good and shows promise, but no one can say that he is a great QB yet.

4 Cleveland Browns (Onebar) – Robert Griffin III QB Baylor
Would be a dream scenario for the Browns to get Griffin without having to trade up. With a guy like RGIII the Browns would add instant credibility to a below average team.

5 Tampa Bay Bucs (Lupagus) – Trent Richardson RB, Alabama
The Bucs will likely target Claiborne or Richardson with this pick, and with Claiborne off the board, it becomes an easy choice. Richardson is an excellent pass catcher out of the backfield and will be a nice ying to LaGarratte Blount’s hard nosed yang.

6 Washington Redskins (Lomas) – Alshon Jeffry WR South Carolina
This is a tough spot because the Redskins need a franchise QB but they are both predictably gone. Jeffry was under productive last year, but that is due to a strong running game and a mid season shuffle at QB. As one of the most physically imposing WRs in this draft, Jeffry can step in from day one opposite Moss and be a very good possession receiver with high upside. The Redskins will need all the weapons they can get for whichever developmental QB they take in round two.

7 Jacksonville Jaguars (Onebar) – Quinton Coples DE, North Carolina
Nabbing Coples would fill a huge need for the Jags. The Jaguars have swung and missed at defensive end in the past, Coples is as close to a sure thing as you can possibly get.

8 Miami Dolphins (Lupagus) – Matt Kalil OT, USC
The Phins are shocked to see Kalil still on the board and now decide whether he or Jake Long plays left tackle. Not a bad problem to have.

9 Carolina Panthers (Lomas) – Michael Brockers DT LSU
Brockers declared early and immediately moved into first place in the DT category. Brockers is a prototypical DT that can run stuff and get to the passer. Look for Brockers to start from day one, and look for the Panthers D to really surprise some people.

10 Buffalo Bills (Onebar) – Riley Reiff OT, Iowa
Bills will be looking to add a big man along the offensive line. Will come down to Reiff or Martin, Martin is more NFL ready but Reiff has potentially a bigger ceiling.

Where is the Bengals first round pick? I see the picked they received from Oakland but not their original pick.

ulimate draft huh, how about you pay attention to the nfl teams so you know what the current draft order is, especially if your going to “update” your poor mock draft.

As noted above, draft order is based on order previous to this weeks games.
