God is Not Trying to Balance it All
by Brad Harmon on February 23, 2011 in Miscellany
“Dear God, I know you’re busy solving larger problems, but …” Have you ever started out a prayer this way? Perhaps, you’ve said, “I don’t want to trouble God with something so trivial. He has enough on His plate already.” Somehow, we’ve got it into our heads that God is some sort of cosmic plate spinner trying to keep all of the plates from crashing to the ground. God isn’t like that at all.

I’m Sorry for the Roller Coaster Ride
by Brad Harmon February 21, 2011When I was a kid I used to love going to the amusement parks so I could ride the roller coasters. It was an awesome experience. It’s not so much fun when it comes to reading a blog though. I’m afraid that I’ve let this site become somewhat of a roller coaster ride lately. Some [...]
Making Leaders Requires Getting Your Hands Dirty

God Doesn’t Use Cookie Cutters
by Brad Harmon January 12, 2011When it comes to developing leaders in our organization, a cookie cutter approach rarely works. Is there a lesson for us to learn in how God used a different method to create Eve than He did for Adam?

The Audacity of Christian Certainty
by Brad Harmon November 17, 2010During his presidential campaign, President Obama published a book entitled The Audacity of Hope. I love that title. It’s one that could be used to describe Christianity, but I’m afraid that instead of “rejoicing in hope of the glory of God” (Romans 5:1-2) we have, by and large, become a religion that has become audacious in our certainty.
What Kind of Leaders are You Yielding?
by Brad Harmon November 15, 2010It’s in our DNA to replicate ourselves. The same is true when it comes to developing leaders in our company. Have you stopped to look at what kind of leaders you are creating? Are these copies of you, or have they mutated in the process? What kind of leaders are you yielding?
