2012 Auction and Dinner Celebration

The Center for Wooden Boats’ 36th annual fundraising auction and dinner celebration, Steer by the Stars, is Saturday, February 18, 2012.

The event is being held in a new location: The Seattle Design Center, in SoDo. John Curley will return as our Auctioneer, and Eat Drink Catering (formerly Tony's Catering) will again provide an amazing meal. Parking at the event is plentiful and free!

Menu choices for your entree are as follows: 

  • Grilled Bistro Steak, served with potato artichoke hash, sauteed chard, arugula and carrots, in a kalamata olive demi-glace
  • Grilled Bone-In Lemon and Herb Roasted Chicken Breast, served with potato artichoke hash, sauteed chard, arugula and carrots, in a kalamata olive demi-glace
  • Vegetarian Butternut Squash Lasagna, with arugula, roasted peppers, squash bechamel and pine nuts, atop a watercress salad

DONATE AN ITEM
Generous donations to our auction provide CWB with much-needed operating dollars, so we can:

  • Provide hands-on instruction in sailing and maritime skills to kids of all ages
  • Preserve small craft heritage for all to appreciate – no admission fee!
  • Make access to water available to our entire community
  • Change lives one boat at a time! 

We are seeking auction donations is three main categories:


LIVE AUCTION ITEMS

Big-ticket or “experience” items – weekend getaways, specially prepared meals with a twist (like our Classic Tugboat dinner!), special excursions, etc. We even auction off boats! Unique experiences often trump “stuff” - have an idea? Let’s talk!

SILENT AUCTION ITEMS

Generally smaller items (in size, not importance!), and often combined into fun packages. Gift certificates, handmade or one-of-a-kind items, program memberships, etc. We love restaurant certificates for our Feeding Frenzy.

DESSERT DASH GOODIES
Bidding is hungry work, and our Dessert Dash is a huge hit! Donate a dessert to serve 10 - the more variety the better!

Auction donations need to be received by January 27th in order to be included in our catalog. We are a 501c(3) non-profit organization, and you will receive a donation acknowledgement letter for your tax purporses. Our tax ID number is 91-1061721.
