So we have not stopped praying for you since we first heard about you. We ask God to give you complete knowledge of his will and to give you spiritual wisdom and understanding.  Then the way you live will always honor and please the Lord, and your lives will produce every kind of good fruit. All the while, you will grow as you learn to know God better and better. We also pray that you will be strengthened with all his glorious power so you will have all the endurance and patience you need. Colossians 1:9-11

I picture the journey we’re on as a race. Not a sprint, but a marathon. It’s not always easy and it sometimes gets messy.

As believers we have been given the power to run this race with endurance and we are to honor and please the Lord with our lives.

Thankfully we have each other! I’m cheering you on! You can do this with Christ’s power!

Let’s not just start the race well, let’s finish well.

Do you need some encouragement today? I would be honored to pray for you. Just leave me a comment or email me at cyndispivey(at)gmail.com.

(If you would like some more encouragement head over to Sisters in Bloom today and read about leaving a legacy.)

Have a blessed Sunday!

Simply Sunday~The Cross of Christ

But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 2 Corinthians 12:9 (ESV)

Sometimes Satan rears his ugly head and tries to remind me of all my failures, my weaknesses, and my mistakes.

Satan whispers to me, “Cyndi, you’re not good enough”.

You’re not a good enough

  • wife
  • mother
  • pastor’s wife
  • daughter/sister
  • friend~just fill in the blank.

Thankfully scripture reminds me that in my weaknesses Christ is strong!

No, on my own I’m not good enough, but with Jesus Christ and his sacrifice on the cross, I am!

So I will boast in my weaknesses.

Today if you’re feeling like you’re not good enough, let me remind you~~

because of the cross of Christ, You Are!

  • You are forgiven!
  • You have been set free!
  • You are loved!

But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved— Ephesians 2:4-5 (ESV)

Have a wonderful Sabbath!

Simply Sunday~Why Me?

January 22, 2012 By Cyndi 3 Comments

We have all experienced hurts, and pains and even losses.

We wonder at times, “why me?”

After losing my Mom, I cried myself to sleep more times than I could count.

I wondered if the pain of losing her would ever go away?

It never completely goes away.

But through the pain, I have felt God’s peace, His faithfulness and His love.

We all have stories to share, stories that God can use to bring hope.

I had the privilege of hearing Christa Wells sing at a conference I attended last fall.

Here are some of the lyrics:

You’re gonna cry yourself to sleep ‘cause for the moment all that you can see

Is what you’ve lost, lost, Why me?

But in the midst of the most exquisite pain you’re drawn into a peace that you cannot explain

and the praises you sing of a sovereign God reach the girl whose last hope is gone

she never thought there was purpose in anything

here now the seed has been planted and it’s taking root there

I hope you’ll take a few moments and listen.

If your week has been filled with tears~God hears and knows.

He will give you a peace that passes all understanding. (John 14:27)

Have a blessed Sunday!

How precious are your thoughts about me, O God! They are innumerable! I can’t even count them; they outnumber the grains of sand! And when I wake up in the morning, you are still with me! Psalm 139: 17-18 (NLV)

Do you ever wonder if anyone beyond your close circle of friends and family cares about you?

Here’s an amazing thought~~God not only cares about you but He thinks about you all the time!

He not only cares about the big stuff in your life, He cares about the trivial and insignificant things in your life.

Today, I hope you know that your life matters and God has a purpose and a plan for your life!

Have a blessed Sunday!
