Introducing Our Latest Year-Round Can: Resin

spacer

It’s been less than a year since we released our four core beers in cans, and we’re ecstatic to announce a new addition to the flock. This isn’t a seasonal release, like the Autumnation of last fall or Diesel, still going ’round this winter. It isn’t our upcoming spring seasonal can, either. It’s a never-before-released, big beer in a slim, 12 oz. can with a potent burst of hops and as strong as an ox: Resin.

It’s Our Anniversary (Ale)!

spacer

It’s hard to believe it, but Sixpoint is approaching its seven-year anniversary of making beer this February. It should be a lucky year for us, right? To help celebrate, we’re rolling out one good-luck charm of a beer: called Anniversary Ale, it’s a Belgian Red IPA with an ABV of 7, and 77 IBUs.

This Month’s ‘Spice of Life’ Series Hops: Simcoe

spacer

Starting off the year with a bitter bang! Today we kegged and shipped out our January installment of the single-hop varietal “Spice of Life” series beers. As mentioned here, this is our monthly study of unique hop strains, the stuff that makes beer taste so great, as exhibited through one stagnant pale ale recipe. Already halfway through the calendar, we come to Simcoe, a singular hop that’s gained extraordinary rise since it was introduced in 2000.

Have A Sixy Holiday!

spacer

We’re dashing through the asphalt / on a one-man, keg-carrying forklift / o’er the broken streets of Brooklyn we go / laughing all the way! Happy holidays, everyone. We hope you enjoy it over a pint of the good stuff.

Black Is the Color Of My Can

spacer

Thick is the froth that rises to its surface, and smooth is the taste of the stout that pours out. That’s right, Diesel stout will be available in cans starting next week.

Gorilla Warfare Is Back!

spacer

It’s back for another annual attack — our coffee porter, made with Gorilla Coffee beans. Gorilla Warfare can be found on draft in bars and restaurants all over right now. Sadly, it won’t be poured also at the Park Slope coffee shop where we got the beans, but it should provide a pretty good pick-me-up all the same.

Mad Scientists Series #6 Is Wet-Hopped As Well

spacer

As our next Mad Scientists creation came about during the hop harvest season, we couldn’t resist spicing it up with the essence of beer, straight from the vines. Hops, just harvested from Upstate New York by members of the Sixpoint team, is the featured ingredient in Mad Scientists 6 — or, as we like to call it, Mad Scientists 5.8, because an earthquake of that caliber on the Richter scale struck the East Coast right as we were picking the hops!

Autumnation Is Here!

spacer

Autumn ushers in an annual rebirth with a full harvest, longer nights, and in many cases, a new wardrobe. We’re celebrating the bounty of the season with a new beer that’s coming out in cans this week — Autumnation. Brewed with pumpkin, ginger and white pepper, and wet-hopped with just-harvested Citra hops from the oldest continually farmed hop farm in the country, it’s a burst of fresh, seasonal spices trapped in a 16-ounce. can.

A Sweet Saturday at NYC Honey Festival

spacer

Sixpoint is proud to be pouring beer this Saturday at the first annual New York City Honey Festival at Rockaway Beach. Grab a pint of our Little Buzz, a rare seasonal brewed in Red Hook with raw clover honey in the style of a pale ale. We’ll also be pouring a few homebrews made with honey at the event. It should be one of the last warm weekends to celebrate outdoors, so make a beeline for the A train!
