There’s the chance to win two return flights to the world’s most romantic city, Paris, as part of the Valentine’s Day package at the Royal Golf Club’s Links restaurant.

For BD34 net (BD30 for members) there’s a 4-course dinner including his and hers amuse bouche, live classical music, a rose for the ladies and a sparkling welcome drink. Call 17751262 for reservations.

Kempinksi Grand & Ixir has come up with the novel idea for couples to take over one of the media booths in its Mezzanine Lounge for the evening. For BD35++ per person you’ll be served a 3-course dinner with a glass of fizz and handed a USB loaded with rom coms and dreamy tunes to get the atmosphere just right.

Or be one of just 20 couples to enjoy Valentine’s dinner in the gorgeous Boudoir Lounge at BD120 per couple including fizz and entertainment. Call 17171000 for reservations.

At Medzo, the InterContinental Regency’s Italian eatery, there’s a special lovers’ menu at BD32++ per couple including a glass of bubbly.

And for meat lovers, sister outlet Legendz has a sizzling set steak menu at BD38++ per couple with a glass of bubbles.

La Fontaine, winner of Time Out’s Most Romantic Restaurant award, promises a 5-course candle-lit feast with soft music in unbeatable surroundings at BD50++ per couple.

The Diplomat has come up with a range of options starting with a 6-course Italian dinner at Mondo, spa and dine, including a 90-minute couple’s spa package, or go all out with spa, dine and dream – dinner, spa and an overnight stay with roses in the room and other little romantic extras.

The Sofitel Zallaq Thelassa Sea & Spa has a special room rate of BD85, including a bottle of bubbly on ice and a two for the price of one spa offer of multi-jet bath, mini-facial and couple’s massage At the Sheraton, Soie Chinese restaurant will have a special Valentine’s set menu inclusive of a welcome drink and half bottle of beverage per person along with live entertainment and the neighbouring Al Safir International restaurant will add extra romantic flair with décor of roses, hearts and cupids and gifts of miniature perfumes for both men and women. Call 17533533 for reservations.

Bushido also has a special 4-course Valentine’s menu at BD35++ per person including a bubbly toast on arrival.

And Muju at The Dragon Hotel Amwaj is putting on an indulgent 5-course meal, priced BD80 per couple, with a welcome drink on arrival.

For outdoor dining, to make the most of the cooler weather, check out Bora Bora, at the Elite Crystal in Juffair, where couples can enjoy a candle-lit date at the poolside lounge for BD25 per couple including a bottle of red, white or sparkling beverage and a raffle draw for lots of romantic prizes. The hotel’s La Cascada is offering a red-candle themed buffet at BD25 for two from 7.30pm to midnight with smooching sounds from the resident DJ and a complimentary cocktail.

At the Elite Grand in Seef there’s a Romeo and Juliet red and white theme with grills, deserts and a DJ for BD25 per couple and Elite Seef Residence is keeping up the red and white theme and playing love songs from the 50s and 60s.

All the Elite properties have special room rates in case you want to make the evening last.

Over at Crowne Plaza they’re really going all out to bring in the lovers with special menus ranging from BD14.950 to BD19.950 across the outlets.

At Harvesters there’s a red-themed party with games, prizes and surprises and, there’s a 20-per-cent discount on couple’s spa membership till the end of the month plus extra benefits.

Not confined to Valentine’s Day, the Romance Package runs right the way through February offering a weekend night stay for two, breakfast in bed, candle-lit dinner in La Mosaique with a bottle of house beverage, flower petals on your bed and a bouquet in your room along with canapés and a bottle of fizz all for BD143++.

The Ritz-Carlton is home to some of Time Out Bahrain’s favourite eateries where you can find set menus ranging from BD22++ to BD33++ including a mimosa or a glass of fizz, a rose for the ladies and heart-shaped chocolates.

The hotel’s gormet shop also has assorted chocolates and heart-shaped cakes, cookies, macaroons, muffins and cupcakes if you’re looking for the perfect gift.

‘Heat’ comes to Dublin, with an evening of the hottest hits performed by the club’s resident band, Evolver, and DJ Conny will make sure the dance floor is kept pumping at maximum temperature with some of his exclusive Valentine’s remixes. There is a special 3-course Valentine’s menu at just BD8 including a drink and the dress code is red and white, the redder the better.

And at Shift 7 the order of the night is ‘dress to impress’ as they turn the bar red and serve up a DJ performance of sensual R’N’B, lounge, Arabic, Latin and funky house. There’s a welcome rose with a glass of sparkling for the girls and complimentary choccies and strawberries for couples and groups of friends celebrating together.
