I love to make bread because I love to eat fresh baked bread, I love the way it makes the house smell, I love having the leftovers for sandwiches (PB&J is my guilty pleasure) and also it totally makes me feel like a domestic diva! Several years ago I set out on a mission to learn how to make a great whole-grain sandwich loaf and it took several tries but I have found this to be a great fool-proof recipe! If you follow the instructions you should end up with a beautiful bakery-quality loaf of delicious bread!

Before I got to have my all-time dream job of being a stay-at-home-mom, I got to have the runner-up to my dream job which was having a decorative painting company. A lot of the time my clients would hire somebody else to do the basic painting before I came in to do the pretty stuff, but sometimes they just wanted me to do it all (I guess they liked having me around, {wink}) so I have painted a lot of rooms. Along the way I picked up several tips so save time and money when doing a painting project and I wanted to share them with you!

This is a really yummy appetizer I made for New Years but it would also be great for the Super Bowl! It sounds complicated but it’s pretty easy to make since you can use rotisserie chicken. Anything with bacon and puff pastry sounds pretty great to me!

I’m calling this Mama’s lasagna even though it’s not really my Mama’s lasagna. It’s not even my Italian grandmother’s lasagna (and I don’t have an Italian grandmother). Nope, the Mama who loves to make this lasagna is my son’s Mama, me!
I like my lasagna tomato-ey, meaty, and delicious! I’m actually pretty crazy about this lasagna and it’s pretty easy to make. Luckily my son seems to be crazy about it too so I have a good excuse to make it often!

My little boy is really into trucks these days. He loves to wear his truck shirt (thanks Grand-Maggie!), watch Truck Tunes videos on Youtube, point out every truck he sees while we drive down the road (we pass waaay more trucks than I ever realized), and of course play with his toy trucks. He always wants me to play with trucks with him but I guess since I’m not a boy I don’t really know how to play with trucks so I came up with an activity to do with his trucks that we both enjoy!

My sweet hubby really doesn’t like for me to go overboard hanging art on the walls, so I decided to turn a bookshelf into art instead! We saw the need for a new bookshelf when our son started pulling himself up on things and we knew that the old rickety wrought iron one we were using to hold our dvds wasn’t going to do. I started searching Craigslist for a larger bookshelf that had cabinets at the bottom that toddlers wouldn’t be able to get into. This is what I found (score!):
