Below is our guide to marketing, promotion, and distribution

If you have questions, don’t hesitate to ask. If you like this guide, please link to it on your band page somewhere. Lastly, if you’re clinically insane and MUST pay someone to organize websites and shit for you, let me know…

Steps aren’t necesarrily in any order, but lets say you start a band today, these are the steps you should take:
1. Do NOT make a Myspace Page for your Band. No Question.

2. Buy the Domain Name from BlueHost.

3. Twitter and Facebook Pages are Mandatory.
Make sure to post your DOMAIN name on both of these when people want more information…

4. Websites
A.For free websites, i recommend Blogger or Tumblr. Both let you use your DOMAIN name(i’ll get to the importance of this later) and let you embed fancy soundcloud and bandcamp.
B.If you don’t like blogger or Tumblr, and you want a super customized website, pay godaddy(or anyone) for hosting and install wordpress. do NOT go to wordpress.com and buy the shit they sell. log into your godaddy hosting and click “install wordpress” if you don’t know what i’m talking about, get a free website from blogger/tumblr or PAY someone.

5. Mailing Lists are old technology. They existed before BLOGS when you needed an email to get an update.
a. Your tumblr/blogger/wordpress blog can automatically email someone if they subscribe to your FEED via EMAIL.

b. If you MUST have a newsletter use tinyletter.com – The coolest easiest newsletter
