Valentine's Day Date Outfits For Day & Night From // Deb of Amongst The Knick Knacks

Greetings Pussycat readers, my name is Deb and I am the curator over at Amongst The Knick Knacks a little corner in the world wide web dedicated to my loves and hobbies. I am so flattered to be invited to Nicole's blog party, I am still a newbie to the blogging world so please excuse me if I come off as a little "green". When I am choosing my outfit for the most romantic day of the year, I tend to lean more towards the cute side of things. The thought of me, deb know as the class clown, dressing up sexy or hot makes me feel horribly awkward and silly. And personally my husband dose not particular care for when i am dressed so fussy that he can even hug me!

Combo one is what I am planning on wearing during the day, a rose print blouse paired with a light pink colored skirt and cardi give off the vibe of being Valentines-ish without being too litteral. Top these separates off with a vintage scarf upon my bouffant and pink tights on my stems.

Combo two I'm keeping with my pink hue theme for the evening time , I change things up with a thrifted shift dress and salmon colored swing coat my parents spotted in a thrift shop in So CAL. Since I always try to make different patterns work together I decided to bust out my favorite pair of heart print tights and pink JC shoes borrowed from my mom. And just incase the local paparazzi show up I have my 60s inspired  sunnies in tow.

Hope you cats enjoyed my V-Day fashion picks!

Trying To Leave For Vegas

spacer

Here I sit in the Indianapolis airport waiting to board my flight to Minneapolis, MN ---> Las Vegas, NV. My flight left at 6 a.m. and I'm still sitting here at 7:48 a.m. Well, wouldn't you know, I missed my fucking flight. Missing a flight is my one of my worst nightmares. I have days of anxiety before I leave for a trip about the possibility of missing a flight. It's silly and ridiculous but I do it. I had to get up at 2 a.m. to hit the road no later than 2:30 to be down in Indy on time. Gray was so sweet, stayed up to make sure I would get up on time, made me coffee, put gas in my tank, loaded all of my luggage up for me and even packed my vitamins for me. He's pretty awesome. I hit the road and was making excellent time until about 10 minutes from the airport I realized that I should really stop and get some more gas. So I pulled over at a gas station, got gas and went back to get in my car only to find that it was locked. Dug around in my pockets a million times, no keys. Looked at the ignition, keys! AHHHHHH!!! I surprisingly stayed calm and asked the gas station attendant if he could help me, he gave me a number of a place to call. Long story short, no one came until 5 minutes before my flight left. There are some positives ::

~ I was able to get on another flight only a few hours later for only $50.
~ I met a very generous, kind and patient stranger. So thankful for that man.
~ I have time to do my make-up now.
~ I have some extra time to blog, catch up on blogs, tumblr and pinterest.
~ Security was nice and let me take all of my unapproved hair products in my carry on.

So now I sit in the airport. Which I love, nerdy, I know, but sitting in an airport is exciting to me. It means you are going somewhere, you are going to go do something, see someone, possibly go on an adventure. I love the people watching in airports. It's the best of the best and amazing. I love seeing so many different types of people. I love looking through all of the cheesy airport shops. The only thing I don't like is the lack of healthy food options and how expensive crappy food is. But other than that, I love it all. So now I am really on my way to visit my friends I haven't seen in so long, be back in the beautiful desert sun and in one of my favorite cities! This morning was worth it and now I'm going to do my make-up.
