Bath Ales collaborate to brew Bristol’s Best!
February 9, 2012
In a united effort, Bath Ales has joined forces with five other local breweries; Arbor Ales, Bristol Beer Factory, Great Western Brewing Co, RCH and Zero Degrees, to brew a special beer to celebrate being Bristolian!
Combining keg loads of skill, knowledge and love for great beer, the plan is to produce a brew that gives a contemporary twist to a style of beer that has been famously brewed and exported from Bristol for centuries. The ‘Bristol Craft Breweries’ will develop an old-fashioned Porter; a traditional dark beer with historical links to Bristol with records of the Porter Brewery dating back to 1730.
The six breweries will be launching ‘Collaboration 2012’ at the Bristol Beer Festival on Thursday 15th March. The beer will be available in bottle and cask and will be sold in all Bath Ales pubs, as well as those owned by the other breweries and a number of freehouses around the city.
And a word from Roger: ‘The brewing industry is truly unique. I can’t imagine any other industry where six competitor businesses from the same city would get together over a beer and decide to collaborate their efforts.’ Cheers to that!
