February 09, 2012Cracker Barrel Congratulates Dailey & Vincent on SPBGMA Awards Dailey & Vincent Take Group and Individual Honors at the 38th Annual Society for the Preservation of Bluegrass Music of America Awards Show
Rounder Records recording group Dailey & Vincent were honored with multiple awards during the Society for the Preservation of Bluegrass Music of America (SPBGMA) awards show on February 5, 2012 in Nashville, Tenn. Together they won Gospel Group of the Year (Contemporary), Vocal Group of the Year, and Overall Bluegrass Band of the Year. Separately, Jamie Dailey earned Entertainer of the Year and Contemporary Male Vocalist, and Darrin Vincent earned Bass Performer of the Year.

Group Finishes Strong with Instrumental Group of the Year and Banjo Performer of the Year Honors
Acclaimed bluegrass group The Grascals was named Instrumental Group of the Year at the 39th Annual Society for the Preservation of Bluegrass Music of America. Band members are Terry Eldredge, Terry Smith, Jamie Johnson, Danny Roberts, Jeremy Abshire, and Kristin Scott Benson. Additionally, band member Kristin Scott Benson was picked as Banjo Performer of the Year. The presentations took place during the SPBGMA award show on February 5, 2012 in Nashville, Tenn. (more)

February 09, 2012Cracker Barrel Welcomes Other Participants as Industry-Wide Kids Nutrition Program Grows Healthful Menu Options Program Launched by the National Restaurant Association in Collaboration with Healthy Dining Adds ParticipantsCracker Barrel Old Country Store, Inc. was one of 19 inaugural participants when the voluntary Kids LiveWell restaurant industry initiative to offer healthful menu options for children launched on July 13, 2011. Today, the National Restaurant Association, together with Healthy Dining, announced that the number of Kids LiveWell participating brands has grown to 66, with more than 22,000 locations. The program focuses on increasing the amount of fruits and vegetables, lean protein, whole grains and low-fat dairy available for kids, while limiting unhealthy fats, sugars and sodium at the same time. A key component is to offer a children’s meal (an entrée, side and beverage) with 600 calories or less. (more)

Just eight months after the release of Teddy Gentry's Best New Nashville CD, Samantha Landrum has been honored by PCG Nashville (The Science of Artist Development) as “Artist of the Year.” This award was presented in recognition of Landrum’s extraordinary showmanship, dedication, outstanding progress and achievement. Mr. Evins was 76 when he passed away on January 14 in Lebanon, Tenn. |
