Shit to Hit: Tonight - Adam Reker @ Indy Ink
February 10th, 2012 / Comments (2)Last week's snow dump delayed Indy Ink's first show of the year until tonight, which features Denver's own Adam Reker.
Adam Reker was born in the Pacific Northwest but has called Denver home for most of his life. His work ranges from playful to complex conveying themes of fear, conflict and the struggle between nature, man and technology. Adam is influenced by street art, collage, nature paintings, and folk art — blending them into a mash-up of colorful pop images. Adam has shown at The Hibbleton Gallery in CA, The APW Gallery in NY and several Denver galleries .including The Other Side Arts, Plastic Chapel, Neopolitan, Icelantic, IndyInk, Illiterate and Meadowlark.
The show opens tonight, Friday, February 10th, 6:30-11:30 pm. It runs 'til the 12th of March, with a closing reception on the 10th of March.

Beforeplay: New Colorado Sexual Health & Pregnancy Campaign - Via Vermilion
February 10th, 2012 / Comments (4)Boulder-based Vermilion has launched Beforeplay — a state-wide public education campaign aimed at reducing unintended pregnancy and normalizing the conversation about sexual health and well being. Targeted at 18 to 29 year olds, the campaign uses billboards, TV spots, transit, print and online ads — along with a robust interactive website, www.beforeplay.org, featuring a health center finder and videos of peers speaking about how they make sexual health choices. The campaign was developed for the Colorado Initiative to Reduce Unintended Pregnancy and is supported by the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment. All photography was shot by Bryce Boyer. Nice work, all.

February 10th, 2012 / Comments (4)As Roshambo Films celebrates its fifth year this January, the Denver-based film and production company has launched a new website utilizing brand new functionality called the parallax effect. Roshambo Films partnered with Media Brigade, an Aspen-based creative shop, to create the site.
