Nearly Thirty…

So you know I want to move house right? I may have mentioned it just a few times. You know, planning the decor and the furniture. I already have my sofa ( and before you ask, I did have my own flat so I haven’t just bought a sofa out of the blue) I love corner sofas and got mine from CSL when they were on offer a year or so…it’s been in storage though for the past year…boo! Fingers crossed it’s coming out of storage soon.

I think corner sofas are great, they look far bigger than they are and make the dingiest of rooms appear modern and trendy – mine is dead comfy; many a night was spend watching a dvd  and drinking the odd Kopparberg ( or three)

A sofa is a massive purchase – it’s not something you’re going to get rid of in a few months so it’s something you really have to consider wisely. I’m hoping that mine will last me for another 5 years! CSL always seem to do some great offers: buy now; pay next year, interest –free credit – you name it they seem to offer it!

My sofa is brown Italian leather; and it’s so soft. Was going to go for a cream one but decided against it – can hide the wine spillages easier this way What kind of sofa would you go for if you were making a purchase?

bloggers are forever doing these ‘things I love’ posts, so being a grumpy so and so, I thought I’d do a things I hate post. Channeling my inner grumpy old woman here.

1. ‘the boy’  – doesn’t really need much explanation does it?

2. Glee- yes, I think it’s rubbish. Soz.

3. Tomatoes – this is one that disappoints me the most, I really, really want to like tomatoes but I just can’t get past the texture. Hard and then soft and seedy; bleurgh.

4. Massive heels  – and this purely because I can’t wear them, I feel like a giant.

5. Mac makeup – well, I like the lipsticks but everything else just leaves me a bit, meh. I think it’s probably because everyone else does like it to be honest. I’m a right contrary-mary.

6. Rihanna  – controversial I know, but I don’t really ‘get’ her….though my recent listening extends to John Cooper Clarke and The Kinks, so I’m probably not the best person to ask…

I think I’ve probably mentioned that we’re house hunting at the moment…which in itself is exciting but you know what another exciting thing is choosing how it will look. I spend a lot of time trawling interiors blogs for inspiration; we may not have found a home but I know what kitchenware we are going to use!

We’re hoping to move to a flat in the city centre, which is great – you know; city living – pubs and restaurants on our doorstep but this too brings its own problems. City centre flats are known for their spacious rooms now are they? I’ve got a sofa from my previous life but I expect that we may have to downsize to a 2 seater and maybe invest in some other seating solutions. I’ve been having a browse around and stumbled upon Fashion4Home bean bags. Though I have this fear that bean bags are just too 1980s for words BUT they can be stored away and cleaned easily – we could even use them on a balcony, yes? And looking at these bean bags – gone are the days of lurid neon colours, you can get them in all shapes and sizes and there’s even one that looks like a doughnut, looks very comfy indeed.

( PS You can tell I’m getting old when  the deciding factors in whether I purchase something is whether it can be cleaned easily and if it’ll be comfy. Oh dear)

Went back to Liverpool for the weekend, got my eyebrows done and felt like:

Just thought I would give you an update on all my jewellery stuff over at Lou Makes, which is why, coupled with other stuff has been a reason why I have been rather absent over this way. I’ve expanded the shop and there’s lots of new stuff coming in each week, I really like finding things that work well together and am really pleased when people buy and love my stuff!
