Running GAGG XV: The Search for Running GAGG XIV

February 3rd, 2010

spacer This weekend I am going to be at Running GAGG, “The Gaming Convention by Gamers for Gamers.” Also there will be Jeffrey Rowland, cartoonist and King of TopatoCo, and Joey Comeau, writer and King of Trouble.

We’re going to be playing games and whatnots, and probably doing chit chats on webcomics and the like.  TopatoCo will have a booth to sell our wares, including a new t-shirt that I will be debuting at the convention. I also don’t think it would be unreasonable to sign and sketch in books for folks!

I hope to see you there!

Emerald City, and a REVOLUTIONARY new print!

March 3rd, 2010

spacer Did you know that I am going to be in Seattle for Emerald City Comic Con? I will! You can find me at the TopatoCo fortress (Booth 202). I’ll be doing the usual chit chatting, glad handing, book signing, tshirt hawking that you’d expect from a friendly Cartoonepreneur like myself.

BUT THIS TIME…

THIS TIME WILL BE DIFFERENT.

Because check out this sweet print I just did up with Anthony!

If you don’t like that image, I’m not sure if you like Dr. McNinja. But Dr. McNinja getting dropped out of a space shuttle to fight dinosaur astronauts isn’t the best part. The best part are those white spaces I’ve strategically placed into the composition. If you buy yourself one of these fine posters from me at the convention, not only will I sign that poster for you, but I’ll do stuff like this.

Now it’s– WATCH OUT FOR THAT SPACE OCTOPUS DR. MCNINJA!!!

I hope to see you there. I hope I get to draw in wacky things on this poster for you.

ECCC image brazenly stolen from the Sheldon blog. Thanks, Dave! And yes. I have drank coffee in the shower. I’ve drank a lot of things in the shower.

More on The Emerald City

March 5th, 2010

spacer We have a map now of where you can find the TopatoCo booth at ECCC. But now… I look at it… and… Oh. It is right there at the entrance. You don’t need a map. But here, if you insist.

Do you know how many WEBCOMIC SUPAH STAAAHS are going to be there? Like, all of them. I won’t list them. Just look at the map. But the other exciting news is that TopatoCo is presenting a live recording of one of my favorite podcasts that I have also played a guest character on, Tweet Me Harder!

It’s at Arcane Comics on Friday night and all the cool people are going to be there because it is free.

Boy have I got some blogging for you

March 22nd, 2010

Internet people, sometimes I have a bunch of things I forget to write about over time, and I have to make up a bulleted list to let you know about all of them. Perhaps I will come up with a name for these posts. Let’s say it’s the Dr. McBlogstorm March Edition.

  • We have quite a few shows coming up in April (FOUR CITIES. THREE WEEKS), if you’ll just check our Appearances list on the right there. Notably, Kent will be making a rare appearance at Boston Comic Con, signing books, and doing sketches in Artists Alley. I’ll be at MoCCA in New  York that weekend, so clearly you should see one of us on Saturday, and then drive to see the other on Sunday, and then we’ll both sign  your books.
  • Also in KENT NEWS, he’s doing commissions right now! You can check out his site for info and examples.
  • You might remember back in the fall, I asked for your help with my dog, Commissioner Gordon in the Cutest Dog Competition? Some friends made comics to rally support! Well somehow, I missed one! Here it is by Angela Melick of Wasted Talent! Wasted Talent’s a pretty swell comic.

Enough about Dr. McNinja. On to friends.

  • Gastrophobia’s first book is up for preorder! It’s a hilarious and pretty looking tale loosely based off the 12 trials of Hercules.
  • Anders Loves Maria (Mature Audiences Only) has ended! Rene, I look forward to whatever you do next!
  • Lucid TV is over. BWAR
