Life management is one of those things we’re not quite aware of until we observe, one way or another, that our own life is a mess. Life management is a neutral name for a large collection of habits, strategies, rules, religions, philosophies and patterns on which we are relying every day in living our lives. Life management is one of those things that affects us even if we’re not aware of their existence.

I started to consciously manage my life several years ago, after 3 decades of drifting away from one pattern to another, from one job to another, from one relationship to another. It was a conscious choice which led me to a beautiful journey. It wasn’t something deeply enlightening or brutally disruptive, but rather a slow process of awakening in which I started to put together information, to create habits, to initiate relationships and to create things around me. It actually took me several years to even understand that I started something called life management.

And that happened when I realized that I can actually recreate my apparently random moments of happiness and fulfillment almost whenever I want to. When I realized that I can interpret and modify reality in a way which would be completely personal and totally rewarding at the same time. When I realized that I am the creator of my own circumstances, not the victim of those so-called bad timings.

Life management is the process of consciously living your life. You can be good at this, or you can be bad. I’m not talking here about success in terms of cultural definitions (which can include money, a certain lifestyle or access to power). The way you live your life is entirely your choice. You can choose to acquire wealth or you can chose to acquire only respect.

Whatever you choose is your life goal. Life management is how you stick to this goal.
